Bought an Echo dot yesterday but after reading about the potential wifi issues I suspect I'll have to return it ( I had a chromecast for christmas which was essentially useless as it couldn't connect to the router which is in a different room to my TV).

Ordered an Echo Dot along with a Philips Hue starter pack (2 bulbs, hub and switch) yesterday and today ordered the multicolour bulb as it was less than half price.

Can't wait to ask Alexa to switch my lights on/off/dim/change colour :)

Alexa and a Dot arrived and set up. My youngest (7yr old) is loving it. As soon as I set it up and it was linked to my wifi it knew my home location for weather request and also when I just said "create playlist" it played a Linkin Park station immediately. Next playlist request created "Metal for Gaming"! I don't know how it knew my likes out of the box but I'm impressed.

Have Hive already but not linked it in yet. Got a Hive wifi bulb arriving tomorrow so will hopefully suss all that out.

So far, very pleased

I've just nabbed this at a bit of a discount via amazon.fr: https://www.amazon.fr/Garmin-Forerunner-Running-Fonction-Coaching/dp/B016V1ZNKI/

Conveniently the exact one I was looking to buy at the weekend!

But I really like having my network exploited and my home appliances being absorbed into the botnet army

Missed out on the PS4 Slim deal (fu Amazon for not sticking a percentage claimed bar under it! :x Other items did have one and so I assumed :fp: ones without would just keep on running until end of promotion), but then lucked out and picked up a white one for even less than the one Amazon were offering. :toot: I'm down the +1 pad and two games, but I can live with that.
