This isn't going down particularly well on YouTube (currently sitting at over 16,000 Dislikes to 6,000 Likes) with an abundance of top-ranked negative comments.

YouTube wrote:Ubisoft CEO: "How should we reveal our new Prince of Persia game?"

Ubisoft employee: "Rap."

So we're finally getting a new Prince Persia game. That has nothing to do with prince of Persia.

Nothing like some gangsta rap to really feel those prince of persia vibes

from assassins creed without the assassins to prince of persia without the prince... you sure know your audience ubisoft...

Every time Ubisoft announces a Prince of Persia I consider finding a new hobby more and more.

Ah, yes...a Prince of Persia game where you don't play the prince...nor a persian.
Amazing move Ubi

This is probably the fastest resurrection and klling of a franchise in the history of the gaming industry

I've never seen a company trying so hard to go bankrupt on purpose

Looks more like a Prince of Bel-air than Perisa

the only prince of persia game in which the enemies look more persian than the "prince" of persia.

This looks ok? The music they used for the trailer didn't really fit it though in my opinion. If it reviews well, it'll be one to pick up in a sale on the Switch down the line.

Jeez, those YouTube comments. As if trailers are always exact representations of the game. Like how Gears of War was all slow-paced and set to Gary Jules’s Mad World.

Just ignore how the gameplay looks bloody excellent.

And saying the character doesn’t look Persian - outright racism.

I'm not totally sold on the graphical style-but that's more in the cut scenes. It looked great in the gameplay sections.

I guess it's not the Prince of Persia a lot of people wanted but a 2D Metroidvania PoP sounds great to me.

I enjoyed that first Ubi PoP game too much to ever give much thought to the fact it felt nothing like the traditional PoP games. If the complaints are based around that I totally get it. But then the change in direction happened so long ago it seems kind of moot bringing it up.

As for this one... not for me.

It’s looking bloody fantastic in the Ubisoft Forward footage.

I don't like the art style or the 'music' used in the trailer but it doesn't look terrible.

This is now close enough to have popped up on the “coming soon” list on the Xbox dash. And that’s where I noticed they’ve priced it at £45. Or £50 if you want some extra digital tat and a pointless three-day early access. I like the look of the game a lot, but at that price it’s going to bomb really hard.

Absolutely. But Uplay, or whatever it's called now, means I'll never buy a Ubisoft game on PC anyway.

So many leaks…

A leaked trailer, presumably meant for the Game Awards show, mentions a demo for the game. So at least we can play that while we wait for the price to drop to something sensible.

The reviews drop at the same time (i.e 5pm today).
