EA are snapping up most of the licences for FIFA, gamerforever. PES will have a few... but hopefully the edit feature will continue to resolve this issue :-).

I see no point in getting peripheral leagues. Yes, the edit mode is great, but will never look at good as the kits in fifa.

They really need to improve the online play for me to switch back to pes.

I've played a few hundred online games in PES 2018 and rarely experienced any probs. Now and again I get a wee bit of lag if I play someone with a poor connection, but I set the option for decent quality connection only so I hardly get any slowdown.

Same, rarely have any issues. In fact haven't even touched the offline parts of the game due to online being lots of fun. Also, it's nice to have co-op to freshen things up.

The whole presentation of the online component really puts me off - in fifa its so well done.

I should know this, but does pes 2018 have an online league like fifas seasons?

Overall i felt pes 2018 had better gameplay in offline mode, however i found myself playing so much online (i dont usually play online on any game) that i bought fifa and sold pes.

Nice going, dmin!

...dang - at least you got there, dude! Did you stick with one team during your promotion run or did you mix things up?

I once missed out on promotion to Div 4 by just a few points, but that's as close as I've got. In past weeks I used Arsenal quite a bit but I've not achieved anything more than when I used lower teams. I'm now back to Div 8 and I'm using Villarreal again. In my first two matches I gained a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid and a 0-0 with Brazil; a decent, if unspectacular, start.

Stuck with the 1 team - Liverpool (yes, I know); just so in tune with their system and how they play. Plus, I support them!

Though, since this, I've traded pes 2018 for Uncharted Lost Legacy. 2019 is out in August and 2018s price is bound to drop even further, so thought I'd get the most bang for my buck while I can.

Think I'll do what I did last time; play the free lite version til the price of the full game drops round chrimbo - I assume they'll do a 2019 lite version like 2018.

jawa inspires Villarreal against the mighty Brazil in a sensational match!

When I play PES online I always take the approach of letting my opponent watch their goal replays if they want to. But... if they then cancel my goal replays, that causes annoyance to rise within me :-). It happened in this match and so I was on a mission. I was determined to emerge the victor and, in the end, it was gonna take something special to claim that reward.

And, my word, a spectacular finish arrived! :toot: .

Grab a pina colada, sit back and check out the highlights:

When that cheeky finish went in, I was pretty much:

Entertaining highlights Jawa, great finish for the winning goal!

I haven't played too much of this recently, after switching from Egypt after a quite successful run I struggled to find another team i was comfortable with and ended up dropping a division or two. I think I'll probably stick to co-op games now until the new version comes out.

My main aim for the new version is to utilise the tactics more, particularly the ones you can change in-match. I've been playing Pro Evo for around 15 years and have never bothered much with that side of it. I think delving a bit more into it and understanding how it all works could really improve my game.

Thanks, 'pip!

Egypt? I haven't tried them out - I'll take a look, dude. Yeah, I dropped a few divisions too after a couple of bad runs - I think I'm in Div 8 but I've had a better start with Villarreal this season.

That's a good shout about the in-play tactics. In PES 2017 I utilised them (I set up different formations and used the dpad to change in-match) but things changed a bit in PES 2018 and I didn't get to grips with it.

I am gonna get PES 2019 at release as I know that I always get so much play from the game. It's only just over five weeks until launch :o ... :toot: .

I haven't read up much on pes 2019 yet, so looking forward to playing the first demo to see the changes. Only thing I did see is that fatigue and injuries would play more of a part.

I'm in a phase of choosing a random team each time I play at present. Playing in an Online Divisions match as Nice (my rank circa 440) against Monaco (opponent rank circa 670) I knew I was in for a tough battle.

The dude was a classy player and I just had to try and hang in there. Going in at half-time and having not had a single shot, things weren't looking too great. But you gotta believe and I felt pretty much like this...

And so...

Two shots, two goals. I had to defend for my life, but... it felt good :datass: .

Thanks, dmin, dude!

I'm enjoying trying out different teams and working on my skills. Not worried about results at the moment; I just like trying to play well against tough opponents :-).

I've played 350 Online Division matches in PES 2018... Won 100, Drawn 88, Lost 162. Average goals score 1.25, Average goals conceded 1.55.

I'm pretty happy with that considering I barely ever choose "A-tier" teams. My personal target is to ensure that my wins+draws total is greater than defeats; and I'm meeting that at the moment.

Last five teams used: Derby County, Nice, KAA Gent, Palmeiras and AEK Athens; lost 1 and drawn 4.

Really enjoying it :-).

I played a few more matches as "lowly" teams and, although I played pretty well, it was really tough to get results; even against "weaker" players they could edge it as they only needed, say, two chances for Ronaldo and it would be two goals.

I've switched to Arsenal and won two straight games; I still have lots of posession but I'm getting more goals from it. I may use a "better" team in alternation with a "lower" team; just to keep me on my toes.

It's going well with Arsenal; a real step-up in results (P5, W4 D0 and L1) and some of my opponents are now quitting the game when they're losing. I never realised just how many cry-babies there are online!

... . Three opponents in a row have quit. 6-3, 3-0 and 4-0 victories; two of them against Real Madrid :datass: .

If they can't cope with me at my KAA Gent, they don't deserve me at my Arsenal ;) .
