Ended a sequence of four straight defeats with a thrilling 4-4 draw with PSG and a comfortable 4-0 victory against Liverpool. I dunno what it is but it seems even tougher to get a result against the top teams in this release. I think it may be because the good players are currently working their way up through the Divisions as the game is pretty new.

I somehow ended up looking at Mesut Ozil’s Instagram feed and... he plays PES :toot: . But then I saw his setup:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BZWckznBb8H/?hl=en

^^^ I can’t get Instagram links to work

Who balances a screen on top of their console?!?

Meanwhile, I am doing bloody terrible in PES now. Every other player seems to be world-class... I am just hoping that, as I mentioned above, the top players are working their way up through the Divisions at the moment. I’ve stuck with Lazio but it feels like the top teams are even better this season; they win every challenge and, when you do break through, their goalies are just fantastic. Harrumph.

Stawberry-floatin' hell... PES!

I am convinced that the "better" teams are "even better" this year. I've just stayed up as Lazio in Online Division 8 by the skin of my teeth, gaining a 1-0 victory in the final game against PSG to end up on P10, W2, D2, L6. But, man, it is a non-stop cycle of Barca-Real-Barca-PSG  . The standard of play seems to be *A LOT* higher this year; I am still hoping that this is because the decent players are still working their way up the Divisions.

It is hard work! I *think* I'm enjoying it... but my forearms and hands are aching   :fp: .

I am getting massively strawberry-floated off with PES.

Playing as Lazio against Man City (Online Divisions), I had 13 shots and their keeper saved 9 of them. They had 4 shots and won 2-1. The top teams in PES seem to be hugely over-skilled and it's so tough to draw against them, let alone get a win.

I am genuinely pissed off about it  :dread:  :fp: .

Gonna play another match, though :| .

...Dortmund v Lazio; I had seven shots on target, six were saved by their keeper... they had two shots on target and it finished 1-1. Dang it!

Edit: On the bright side that is my first point of this season  .

I may give the online in this a miss.

I played one game online and played the other guy off the pitch. Dominated everything and he scored 2 goals from 2 shots, second one from way out which deflected off my defender and looped over the keeper.

Had same problem with FIFA online, I don’t have a good way to score, everything else I’m pretty decent.

Relegated to Online Division 9 using Lazio. P10, W1, D2, L7 :( .

I have turned into the Crystal Palace of PES. I am majorly frustrated with how much better the top teams are.

Don't be so hard on yourself! You've actually scored goals. :)

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

 . I had thought I may pull off a great escape. With two games left I needed two victories to stay up (playing as Lazio, I just needed two wins and two draws out of ten matches to stay up in Division 8). I won the penultimate match 3-1 against PSG but, in the final game, I was 4-0 down to Dortmund in the first half. I brought it back to 3-4 but finally bowed out 3-5.

I am pretty certain that the players in the top teams have way higher stats; when they shoot, it is always on target and usually a goal, whilst the better sides’ keepers regularly turn out world-class saves. It doesn’t help that nearly all online players - understandably, I guess - select a top team. There are hundreds of teams to choose from and yet the online population selects from about seven  .

Having said that, I did play against Stoke yesterday which is the “worst” team that I have faced in about the past twenty matches. I gained a 0-0 draw  .

Man, I have been doing a lot of wailing. I should just git gud.

I caved and bought this after getting tired of waiting for a sale  Having a quick go against the computer before venturing online, Wales v Ireland in a simulation of the game tomorrow night.

This is great. Played a couple more games last night. Still in D12, so the games are easy, but that's ideal while I'm learning the game.

Beat a guy who was using Paris Spam Germain last night. Felt good.

Big win in my first game against the computer, I think I must have been on the easiest setting. About to play some online divisions so need to prepare for a barrage of Real Madrid and PSG. Does anyone here play the online co-op mode? I really enjoyed it in the beta so wouldn't mind teaming up with some GRcadians for some games sometime.

That's two, I think you can play with a team of three. Jawa do you want to get involved too?

Played 7 games in online divisions as Wales and I've played Real Madrid twice, Barca, Juve, PSG, Man United and Atletico. I really wish they would let you match up against similar ranked teams.

So after my first 10 games, my record stands at a respectable won 6, drawn 2, lost 2 and I'm closing in on promotion to Division 8. The game plays slower than last year and seems less focused on counter attacking so you can build up some nice moves while keeping possession. Crosses and headers have also thankfully been nerfed, although I've had a lot of luck getting behind the full back and hitting low balls into the box so not sure if that may become a regular tactic in this one.

Guys, yeah, I’m in for trying out the online co-op mode; I have never played it before but it sounds really neat!

It sounds like you’ve made a decent start in Online Divisions, sawyer. I’m finding the top teams to be pretty tough to beat, but I am still enjoying it.

I'm free the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week if any of those are good for everyone?

I tried the co-op last night and it's good fun. On casual mode I think the teams are randomly allocated as I ended up playing Scotland v Albania which was a nice change.

Ok, hook me up. What sort of time? I struggle before 8pm but should be good after that.

Excited :toot:
