I've only played as three in co-op online, Dice - but we played against duos and the online instruction manual says that you can play as a duo.

- - - - - - - - - -

Frustrated at the mo as I've been edged out of four of my last five online matches. I love playing as different teams but it's so tough when most online players only choose the top teams. Using Saint Etienne I've just lost 4-3 to Barca... equalised in the 86th and Suarez scored in the 90th. They only had four shots on target :fp: .

I've been playing as West Ham, for some unknown reason. Andy Carroll has a head like a 50p piece. :fp:

ONly managed a quick game yesterday, but lost to a guy playing with Madrid, who insisted on celebrating. Alright mate, you've just scored against West Ham. Played.

Oh, man, that grinds. In my Saint Etienne v Barca match, I was 2-0 down on 8 minutes and the guy started doing tricks and stuff :fp: . I brought it back to 3-3 near the end but then he got a jammy fourth. He’d only had four shots on target but celebrated as if he’d won the World Cup  :fp: .

Yeeeeees! I got promoted from Online Division 7 to Division 6 using Saint Etienne :toot: . Played 10, Won 5, Drawn 0, Lost 5. I am well pleased as, even in the matches that I lost, I was totally in the game and only missed out because they were scoring insta-goals with Neymar, Messi etc.

Congrats Jawa! Sounds like you're starting to click with the game now, those are some great results with a team like Saint Etienne.

Unfortunately I'm finding myself struggling with the game at the moment. I've only won one of my last 12 matches (and that was playing as PSG  ) and I can't find a system that works for me. I've tried playing as Wales, Everton, Ajax and Chile amongst others but things just aren't going my way at the moment. In the last edition I mainly used a standard 4-4-2 formation and I think I need to go back to basics - I actually made a comeback from 3-0 down to 3-3 last night while playing as Chile after switching to a 4-4-2 on 65mins, but I went on to lose 4-3 :x

Thanks, man. I had a great end to the season following a tough start. I do tend to find that these things go in phases; one season you seem to suffer and be a little unlucky and then you bounce back. It is so hard when up against the top teams; they usually score from most chances even if you've dominated the play.

Maybe try tinkering with your formation and tactics a bit, sawyer? I'm playing a kinda 4-3-1-2 at the moment. I was struggling with just three in defence - so tough against the PSGs and Reals - and this latest style seems to be working okay. With your skills I know you'll turn things around soon!

The pain.

I'm in Online Division 6 and I'm sticking with Saint Etienne.
0-1 Arsenal
0-1 Man City
2-2 PSG
1-1 Poland
0-2 Napoli
0-1 Inter
2-5 Chelsea

So frustrating. I'm playing pretty well... but obvs not good enough to get by with Etienne at this level

Yeah, it didn't work out well  . Despite a valiant 1-0 victory against Barca and a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in my final two matches, Etienne have been relegated to Online Division 7.

Squeezed in a couple of quick co-op games with Sawyerpip last night.

It's impossible to imagine two more different games. First game we were Colombia against England, and absolutely blew them away. We were 2-0 up after 8 minutes, and should have been out of sight at half time. As it turned out, we added two more after half time and cruised to a 4-0 win. Everything was just clicking - Sawyerpip scored all four with some great finishing, and my assists were pretty decent too.

Second game, we were Madrid vs Barca and it was really tight. Again, took an early lead, a header from a corner, but it turned into a really scrappy game. I've found this: the faster teams can close down the spaces so well that there's rarely any room. We won 1-0.

Still, though, magnificent fun. I love co-op. :D

Nice one, guys. I thought it was really cool when we played the other week. I have taken a break from PES for a few days but the addiction is tempting me back to it :-).

If I had Mario, I wouldn't be playing much PES either

Thanks for playing the co-op matches, dude - it was great fun albeit it took us a while to gel  . I think it works a wee bit better with two players rather than three, as you can quickly identify when you’re gonna get a pass. It’s brill, but perhaps tougher than single player mode.

Definitely up for more co-op matches when you, sawyer or whoever is about :) .

...and I got the “World Class” Gold trophy for scoring “from over 35 metres out in open play”. Our teamwork earned that, Poser :toot: .

Amazing work! That goal nearly got me off my feet - great team effort.

I was quite poor last night - I have always been the sort of gamer who only really plays one game at a time. Flicking between this and Destiny has clearly hampered me slightly. Still, nothing wrong with my excuse making :slol:

Totally agree about playing with two rather than three, and I really need to lay off pressing L1 all the time. It's hard-coded into me and is a hard habit to break.

Still, despite getting pasted, I was still really enjoying it. We can only improve by playing together more.

Snap, dude. I hadn't played for a week before yesterday and so I got in a single-payer online match just before we started, just to get the feeling flowing again!

Co-op mode is indeed a lot different to the single player game. I got caught up in switching too much a few times... I think it's all knowing about when to hit that switch player button.

We were a little unlucky in always playing others that were ranked higher than us; especially that chap ranked as level 64 (!) - he was ace.

Brilliant fun all the same and I'm always up for more co-op games.

My mate and I managed to use the co-op challenge cup currently available to play some team play with him as a guest, but we kept getting 2 vs 3 matches, getting our arses kicked, and the option to switch 3v3 or 2v2 is unselectable at present. No sure if it's something that unlocks as your co-op level goes up (I'm Level 7). It's strawberry floating barmy if it is.
More than 2v2 is a bit hectic, IMO.

Returned to PES and I was a bit apprehensive after not playing for a while.

Led Saint Etienne to Online Divisions wins away at Barca (2-1) and home to Real (2-1). Played the much better football in both games, with both opponents scoring from virtually their only shot on target (Messi and Ronaldo  ). Yeah baby :toot: .

Been playing pes2018 lite; not a big fan of myclub, but hey it's free and im getting some practice in for when there's a price drop after chrimbo!

Been doing OK online apart from one game where some guy was just one touch passing it around and I couldn't get near him! Any advice if I encounter this again? Assume just have to go defensive to block the spaces? Also, need to sign a new manager so I can change formation; might make a diff.
