Sounds like you're doing well, sawyer - I find Division 6 to be challenging in terms of getting enough points for promotion.

Yeah, I've played a couple of opponents who start the game but then don't move their controller for the entire match. It's quite odd but, thankfully, pretty rare. In such cases I just treat it as a chance to practice my shots!

I haven't played PES since my last post here so I am expecting a wake-up call when I start my new season in Division 5  .

Yeah I went through a really bad patch for awhile so it's good to be getting results again. Just need a little bit extra to push me into promotion territory.

Good luck! In my one Divison 5 season I only managed a meagre 1,400 points, I think you need 2,500 just to avoid relegation.

Yeaaah! I was lucky in my first match as I played someone who wasn't too good and won pretty easily. However, in my second game I was up against someone using Barca and, despite having a defender sent off, I grabed a winner in added time to record a 1-0 away victory. Was going "yeaaah!" :toot: .

2,500 points just to stay up, though :o .

Edit: Dang it. The pain of PES  . After grabbing that win, I lost 2-1 away to Real and they grabbed a winner in added time :x .

Edit: Then lost 3-2 to AC Milan after bringing it back to 2-2. But... ended with a 4-1 victory over Liverpool. Half-way through the season and we have three wins and two defeats. C'mon, the Etienne!

Played splendidly in beating Villareal 1-0 away... and then got beat by Man Utd 3-0 at home. Lukaku had three shots and scored three; so clinical. Three games left this season; things are gonna be tight.

Ensured that Saint Etienne stay up in Online Division 5 with two games to spare (played 8, won 5, lost 3) :datass: . Fought like dogs to gain a 1-0 away victory at Liverpool :toot: .

Drew 0-0 away at Barca against a higher-ranked player. Incredible action for a 0-0; a really good game.

Doing okay at the mo but I'm sure it won't be long until the tears return  .

...gutted. Gutted!

In my final Online Division 5 match I needed a victory to take Saint Etienne up and I drew 1-1 with Dortmund. We finished on 3,184 points and the promotion level was 3,500. Played 10, won 5, drew 2 and lost 3.

Proud of Etienne, though  .

Oof. Difficult times this season in Division 5.

Etienne 0-0 Liverpool
Athletico Madrid 1-0 Etienne
Etienne 0-1 Real Madrid
Real Madrid 0-0 Etienne
Etienne 1-3 Atalanta
Barcelona 1-1 Etienne

I wasn't playing bad; I just struggled to create chances against tough opposition and was consistently edged out. The player using Atalanta was fantastic; fast movement, quick passing and tight turns - he was excellent. It looks like it's gonna be tough to avoid relegation with four games left. But I didn't want to go out with a whimper...

The first two goals bobbled my way (Lloris for that first goal :fp:  ) but I built on the chances that I made :) . Could still go down but at least we showed some spirit!

Relegated to Online Division 6. In the final three matches, Etienne lost 1-0 to Chelsea (A) when their goalie was awarded MOTM, won 2-0 against Olympiakos (H) and then won 2-0 against Athletico Madrid (A). I'd left it too late, though, finishing just below the "staying up" threshold. Grrr!

Those first two were highly comical!

They were odd ones, dmin  . I didn't mind, though, 'cos I'd struggled to break through in previous games :) .

Etienne 3-4 Juventus
Liverpool 4-1 Etienne
Etienne 0-1 PSG

:x .

Strawberry-floating PES.

Back-to-back relegations; down from Online Division 5 and then 6. I stuck with Etienne - although I even went for China's Evergrande when I was desperate for two lots of 666 points in the final two matches! - but I struggled throughout.

I've used Etienne for ages but I may now have to switch to a better team to get my confidence back. It's so frustrating playing against an average player using, say, Man United and they spam goals from Lukaku. Ho-hum, I just gotta git gud again.

I've stopped the rot. For my new season in Online Division 7 I used Villareal and we've stayed up on a record of P10, W2, D4 and L4. I'm playing reasonably well - going toe-to-toe against the usual Reals and Man Citys - but I'm not getting much luck in front of goal.

Liverpool seem to be a bit over-powered after the recent player stats update and many more opponents are using them than before. Their front-line is so fast and Salah is now Messi-like with his finishing.

...and now we've been relegated to Online Division 8.

I dunno what's happened. Just a short while ago I nearly lead Saint Etienne to promotion from Division 5, and now I've had three relegations in four seasons (two with Etienne and one with Villareal). It's weird... I'm getting zero luck in front of goal and even the "random" players that I'm up against are always ranked higher. The season finished as P10, W1, D3 and L6. Four of those defeats were by just one goal.

So, err... yeah. Seem to have lost my touch at the mo.

I'm downloading this as it's on the Game Pass and I fully expect to still be strawberry floating gooseberry fool at it as I'm terrible at any game with controls that are more complex than Sensible Soccer.

I'm not even sure why I'm bothering as I honestly know I'm going to world class suck at this :fp: .

It's nice to see someone else playing the game, Peter! Yeah, it'd probably be worth playing several games against the CPU to get s grip on the controls before you look to venture online. As the game is on Game Pass, I'd assume that lots of people new to the title will be trying it out. I hope that you enjoy the action!

I have massive damage about PES. I'm playing well in terms of posession but I just can't get the goals. I truly am the Arsenal of PES at the moment and I'm gonna give it a break.

Based on this I decided to check out Egypt, and you get a huge 621 points for a win with them. They're not too bad either, and with Salah they've got a quality player who can get you goals. I've played 3 games with them and got 2 wins and a draw so I think I'll stick with them for awhile.

I'm still in Division 6 at the moment and have 4 games left in my current season. I'll need one draw to stay up and two wins to get promotion so fingers crossed.

Good to hear that you're still playing, sawyer! Like you, I prefer to stick with a slughtly lower team than the "top" ones but, man, it's tough to get things to go your way. You can have a stack of posession but then, say, Ronaldo will score with a screamer from one of their chances. Division 6 is pretty good going; I'm back in Div 8 even though I almost made it to 4 just a few seasons ago!

I'm taking a little break from PES at the moment. Well, it's been 24 hours now, anyway :shifty: .
