Does this mean that the pc version will actually be a proper version this year?

I believe the PC version will be based on the PS4 / XBO version this time around, Albear, rather than the PS3 / 360 version as before. PC Gamer seemed to enjoy their early look at the PC version.

...and it's up on PS4, too. Through-ball.

I'm always cautious of PES demos but I will give this a look later.

Hopefully they don't make too many tweaks, very happy with the slower pace and the realistic dribbling.

I believe that the new 2018 game is going to be slower-paced with more focus on dribbling skills. Personally I have loved the gameplay of the current 2017 version so I am a little uncertain about a change in style... but, hey, it always takes time to get used to a new PES.

You didn't play the beta.

They were right to change the style :)

I've set this to download remotely, but can't remember how much HDD space I have left :fp:

I'll get to play it tonight if it's done. Anyone had a go yet? Would be interested to hear early feedback.

I think I'll give the demo a miss and stick with the current 2017 version at the moment. There are always a few twists with the new edition and I prefer to pick up the baton once it actually launches.

Few games on the demo just now.

It's not bad to be honest, but PES just always feels so unresponsive to FIFA in regards to button presses and players responding. For sure some of that would come with spending more time with it.

Keepers are still poor.
Faces look really nice.

Kinda feel we're at the point though where one of PES or FIFA are going to need a massive overhaul to see any big changes given the standing of each game in regards to sales and popularity. That and Konami making the online modes better imo.

Somewhat fitting however that the main loading screen has out of date players in it though. Just photoshop Neymar out ffs!

Played good few games of the demo; things seem to have tightened up nicely compared to previous mp demo.

Really love the new gameplay; feels more realistic with more dribbling and tippy tappy passes around the opposition and some great whipped crosses.

Keepers are better than 2017; really have to pick the spot or trick keeper when through one on one. They do like to parry a lot more which does end up with lots of chances for second ball goals.

Only negatives I have is that I found the default normal difficulty far too easy and the through ball too overpowered, especially with high opposition defensive lines. Really mauled the best teams even when picking the crappest team. Problem solved by upping the difficulty on full release I hope.

I find that it always takes time to get used to the new version; some things will work slightly differently or just feel like they've changed. Initially some aspects may seem "wrong" until you've got used to them.. and then it clicks.

I often find that I am unsure about the new version at launch as I have normally played 500-odd online matches in the previous version over the past year. Usually there are things that have been nerfed or made a little easier. Last time, chipped shots were virtually eliminated whilst headed efforts became a little too potent.

As ever, Online Divisions will be the game mode that I'll play. I have barely touched the other options in the past few years, bar a some online exhibition games with a few GRcadians  .
