What are the odds that News sites will write the same article over and over again about how amazing it looks and not give it a second thought after release?

It looks great to be sure, but you could cut together footage from several other games and produce the same thing, or play any of several other games and get the same experience. Considering the shenanigans, developer meltdowns and strange cult-like mindset of some sectors of the PCARS community I am more than prepared to hold off for a long time before getting this, maybe until the inevitable complete/goty edition a year or so down the line.

I am mostly in the boat of avoiding this entirely unless it really does turn out to be a second coming kind of deal. I didnt buy any of the DLC from the last game, even in the recent sale, because of the shady way they conducted the fund raising for this sequel.

Saying that, they have been paying me constantly for investing in the last one, and Ive probably earned at least double what I put in.

Bear in mind there's been next to no actual gameplay/hands on, just the same recycled press releases from journalists invited to fancy press events.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this will look like on Scorpio.
It could be pretty special.

The "Ultra Edition" is up for pre-order at Amazon. It costs £430.

Yes, four hundred and thirty pounds  .

The Project CARS 2 game will arrive in an exclusively designed, premium-packaged Steelbook case, the world's most sought-after collectable packaging

Totes worth it :datass: .

It also includes a 1/12 sized car model.

No heat for this? Came out today.

Run a few races, the physics model is better than the previous game so far. The breakaway is a lot less savage, I actually caught a few slides, inconceivable in PC1.

Visuals are mostly the same, camera customisation is better/easier.

The controller support works out of the box, so you dont have to spend hours strawberry floating about like the last one.

It all feels very positive so far. It still feels 'serious' though, Forza you feel like you can drop in for fun, PC2 you feel like you drop in for a bit of an ass blasting. As usual I play with no assists and the AI about as hard as it will go, but Ive found that I had to turn stability management on just whilst I get used to it. With most of the races being quite short at the start you cant get any heat into your tyres and the rear feels icier than it should, imo. With the stability on it gives you movement but with less risk of the trademark PC1 fuck-off-snap-oversteer-eat-wall-fucker-ness.

They also added a new radial menu system for the d-pad that doesnt seem particularly useful unless you are seriously into your pre-race presets and all that gooseberry fool, means I cant use any of my previous binds for windows, lights, motec etc. I think Ill have to overwrite that.

All in all, pretty good, havent had a chance to play with the career mode but hopefully its engaging.

This is what put me off the first pcars i think, but i'm glad that the two games have their own niches on the spectrum between iRacing and Mario Kart. I wonder how pcars will fare on ps4 given how radically different Gran Turismo is going and whether that has left the door open for pcars 2 to really gain some....traction. :shifty:

Maybe its a bit harsh, but what I meant was that in Forza they have fireworks on the side of the track and you can start a powerslide at the green light and hold it to the chequered flag and the menu man will be all "woah dude radical race". PC2 you can do a massive powerslide and then spear into the grid wall and the menu man will be all "alright mate hold it together and come in for a track rod adjustment my man".

I don't believe that's true at all, at least on console (have it on PS4). On controller it's an awful, twitchy mess out of the box. Like the first it can be calibrated and once done it's fine, but in no way does controller support work straight out of the box. I've no doubt a lot of people are going to struggle playing PCars 2 with default controller calibration.

Im playing with a bonetroller if that makes any difference. Worked fine for me.

What assists do you have on/off?

Just stability to help reduce the looseness. Might very well be the dual shock isn't as well optimised as the bone controller, (can't see why though), but it was a mess on first firing it up and after trying a few different disciplines I started tweaking. Fine now, but a ballache to begin with.

Is this any good? Never played the first and regret pre ordering GT Sport on PS4 via the US Store (I don't think I can claim a refund from them!). How are the graphics on the PS4 Pro? I have read that the controls are pretty good compared to the first instalment.
