Those reviews do sound promising. Part of me knows I'm going to crack and buy this shortly even though I know I don't have the time to devote to it right now! :fp:

Out of interest where do you folks go for Switch reviews? Other than Eurogamer the only place I tend to check these days is NintendoLife.

Arrived this morning, put in a few hours before I need to go out. I was going to do the OCTOPATH route (I had no idea the names of all the characters spelt Octopath), but after starting with Ophilia and finishing her first chapter, I ended up wandering into H'aanit's area, and starting her first chapter. It just felt natural to head in that direction. I wonder where I should have headed to meet Cryus next. After agonising on a main character for so long, it felt a little pointless, because I've literally swapped H'aanit to the front of my team, and running through her story it feels very her story. I think the structure has been a point of contention for some reviewers, but I'm liking it very much, so far, at least.

Thanks for the update fisher 2.0.

I can feel my resolve cracking on holding off for this, just seen it's only £42 if bought from the right eShop...

Does the demo actually come up with something telling you it's over, my clocks at 3 hours and it's still letting me walk about and do stuff.

So is the full game actually fully voiced?
Or is it like the demo where it starts out fully voiced before dropping it entirely and going for generic soundbites all the time?

From what I've read and recall, it'll let you walk around until you move to a new screen but you won't have anymore battles.

Guys, please. Octopath is too H Y P E a game for forum drama. :capnscotty:

I have literally no time, a huge to-do list filled with far more important things, and a backlog of great games to play already... but I'm gonna go ahead and buy this because, y'know,

Pretty much where my head is at as well. My backlog is so big I'm sure the games on there wouldn't mind a bit more company!

It's not fully voiced, all the main cutscenes are though.

So what counts as a "main" cutscene then? I remember story cutscenes in the demo not being voiced.

Sorry but I'm really struggling to see where the budget went for this to justify a £50 price tag rather than around the £35-40 mark.

I've only seen a few screens, but I'm hoping for something like shining force 2 with this.

Do you realise how expensive voice work is, especially over the 8 or 9 language they dubbed this in? Fully voicing a game with this much dialogue is very, very expensive.
