The mix of pixelated sprites in front 3D background (which looks rendered but with pixelated skin) and 2D view is... it's bloody lovely. I'd actually boot up remote play on my Vita to play this... I really do hope it comes to other consoles.

I was really hoping for a new Bravely Default to be announced, but was pleasantly surprised by this. I adore that art-style and you just know there will be plenty of depth and a satisfying combat system with this team behind it.

Whilst i'm completely sick of retro 2d pixel graphics I have to say this anachronistic blend with 3D is unique and absolutely eye-catching.

I think the difference is it's good pixel graphics. Looks like Final Fantasy VI rendered in 3D.

It's not the lazy 'pixel graphics' you find in indie shite on Steam Greenlight.

This looks really nice. I thought it was some amazing FFVI remake at first.

Hopefully it will play well, too. I'd imagine it's fair way off, though.

It's made by the Bravely Default team, I'm sure it'll play just fine!

Played through with the demo with Olberic / Berg. Really enjoyed it. I'd already fallen in love with the art-style from videos, but it's breathtaking when actually playing it. It seems very similar to the Bravely Default system, except a little less weighted (there's seemingly no punishment for boosting). It took me until level 4 to realise that you could boost more than once...lol. Boosting for 4x and defending the turn after the boss had used Bide made it ridiculously simple though, reducing his damage to 1. It has one of those battle systems, similar to Bravely Default, that is just so addictive. I adored it, and explored everywhere I could after the demo ended. I'm going to save the other character for a future playthrough, rather than do it all now. Need to savour it.

I'd forgotten that a demo was out - will take a look at it tomorrow. The presentation style really is lovely.

The demo is really good fun and the game looks so beautiful in motion.

Really looking forward to the full release.

This demo  :toot:

The combat :toot:
The music and voice acting
The visual effects like lighting

I was captivated when we first saw the first trailer in January but this has cemented it as a day one purchase. I'm very excited! :toot:

Mmm. I've downloaded this. Had a very quick start with Primrose but didn't go far. I'm currently kind of struggling through 'I am Setsuna' though and it put me off going further. I can see I'm going to have to give it another go and continue to the end.

Great to see games that would have previously been handheld only on Switch, it's certainly starting to live upto that "one platform" promise.

Hopefully the likes of Professor Leyton and Phoenix Wright follow.

Demo is good fun, the main selling point is definitely the art in motion. Unfortunately I'm not as big a fan as the in-combat look - I find the difference between player character sprites and enemy sprites quite off-putting. They're in very dissimilar styles.

But yes, outside of battle looks wonderful

Downloaded the demo of this last night, going to give it a proper bash later. Looks beautiful from the videos.
