Just had a classic moment! You know how usually you have to try different things with Trico to get him to move? Well I was arsing about without being able to move the action forward when Trico suddenly went and took me over to where I needed to be! He must have got so bored of my stupid antics that he just took the lead  .

I read somewhere that there is a trophy for taking over thirty hours to complete the game? I'm gonna do that easy 8-) .

EDIT: There are bits in this game where the climbing / heights actually makes me feel a bit giddy... I get a wobbly feeling in my legs when climbing up things and there is a massive drop below!

ANOTHER EDIT: Wow. This really is great... it's gonna make a real push for my GOTY if it carries on to this standard. Magnificent!

There's a trophy for completing it under 30 hours. In fact taking over 30 hours is the only way to get none of the time related completion trophies.

Finished in under 15 hours. What a beautiful but frustrating game. Trico just will not listen at times, to the point where he will just do his own thing while you want to get a hidden barrel. Its really shocking the amount of time spent getting him to move where you want him to be, also Trico went to throw me onto his back and I went over than over the cliff instant death and I wasn't even in control. Good luck anyone going for the no "game over" screen trophy!

Congrats, Rubix! How do you know you took under fifteen hours, dude? Is there a game timer hidden away?

Spent another couple of hours on this today; it's just brilliant. The controls can be cumbersome (I'm stuck trying to get Trico to perform a particular dive at the moment) but the sensational environments, wonderful set-pieces and the marvellous animation of Trico make it all worthwhile. This is fast becoming one of my all-time most enjoyable games... and I don't say that lightly.

There are separate trophies for completing it under 30 hours, 15 hours and 5 hours. 5 hours or less will be tricky depending on Trico's behaviour

Have not reviewed a game in over a year but thought I would with this: Click

Few of my twitter posts while playing. No Spoilers

Also the one below is what should have happened but for some reason the first time I got to this part he just chucked me off the side to my death. Unfortunately I couldn't get a clip of it. Glad I wasn't playing through without dying!

Know where you are, spent about 40 mins trying to get him over to the barrel than to dive. Just dive yourself and grab him underwater when he decided to seems to be the only way.

Also see my tweet at the time, I was properly frustrated

I think it's more likely he's watching someone play it.

Bingo jiggles. Gorgeous game artistically but looks like a HD remake If that makes sense. Trico's animation is stunning!

Thanks - I'll have a go at that this afternoon :toot: .

Technically the game is an oddity; I can see where Phote is coming from with the "HD remake" point as some of the textures do appear a bit lo-res and there is a general "smoothing" effect... but the structure and design of the environments is majestic whilst Trico has incredible scale and animation.

This has definitely been the surprise game of the year for me; it didn't appeal and I have to admit that I'd thought the convoluted development route would end in disaster. But it's something special.

Done it! The part I was on was the bit after that first big dive; I swam down and then up behind the gate, and then got Trico to jump into the water... the huge wave lifted me up to the switch :-).

I had to watch a YouTube vid to work it out, though  . I'm on to the next stage now and back to trying things for myself. What a game!

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade wrote:I haven't had any problems getting Trico to do what I want, at least, not many problems. Every once in a while hell ignore me, but honestly I find that just give him a bit more personality and makes him feel like a real companion and not just a set of code that obeys every instruction you give it. Again total cat behavior, but the last time he wouldn't listen to me I was on his back, trying to make him just walk forward. I tried twice and he just saw there looking at the path ahead. I said fine, strawberry float it, ill just walk myself, dropped off him, and then the strawberry floater got up and walked ahead of me  Just like an asshole cat

I'm guessing I'm near enough to the end now, I just woke up in the cage after the "evil" trico batted me around like a hamster in a ball. So far this has been nothing short of incredible. And it really, really doesn't look like a HD remaster, maybe if youre watching a shitty twitch stream or something. The lighting and animation are glorious.

You're about two thirds of the way through, and it will just keep getting better as it goes on from here

Try and stay away from guides because when you work it out yourself you get an amazing sense of accomplishment

I sure did, Rubix, and the game is getting better and better. It's easily in my personal top two games of this year so far; it's just superb.

That's gonna be a treat, BOR! I can see why some folk would get frustrated in places but the wealth of superb aspects make it all worthwhile.

I'm near the end of the game (I think!) and I hope to complete it tonight. If all goes to plan, I'll be making one of my extremely rare posts in the "games completed" thread! :toot:

Just completed it and the credits are rolling.

Wow. After ten years or so... it was worth it. Incredible.
