I've just done this myself. You may need to buy more moves from Trowzer snake in World 1.

So has there actually been a release date for the Switch version? Played a bit on PC but would definitely get on Switch.

No date yet.

This is from last week:
"We're aware of the huge demand for more news on this and appreciate your patience as we work out the final issues," Playtonic soothed. "As soon as we're 100% confident with this version and everything is approved, we will make sure you're first to know the release date!"

I've switched to manual camera and it's SO much better. Far less frustrating.

Am I doing something wrong or are the Kartos sections like nigh-on broken and frustratingly shite? I don't think I've ever managed to hit one of those stupid wasp enemies with his attack even when it's a totally straight section of track, it just goes right past and then he crashes into it and I lose gems.

Are there any tips or is it literally just "keep try and eventually you'll luck into a run where you don't crash into every strawberry floating obstacle"? :dread: I thought the new patch had fixed them but they're still fubar, clearly.

I usually jump attack the wasps (though I'm still only on World 3, so I don't know if that's practical for later).

Talking of Kartos, I had my first serious glitch last night. I'd been in World 3 for over an hour, and made good progress, clearing up most areas. I started the Kartos course, the game froze, and I had to reload. ALL progress from the session was lost. Why the hell are there no progress saves until you exit the world?!

:dread: The Rextro Minigame in the Casino world :fp:

It's an okay concept, but good god. Did *anyone* QA this? Every time I've played it now I've managed to disappear offscreen but not die, so not only can I not collect the quills, it also takes me so long to respawn that when it eventually does realise I'm dead I'm so eager to respawn I'm dropping behind poker chips which instantly drag me off the screen and kill me again. strawberry floating. Hell. Playtonic are an absolute shower of imbeciles. This is nonsense. How have these not been patched yet? :dread: Nah it's all working perfectly. Jesus. Now to attempt the Kartos stage, as though that's going to be any better!

Also this stage gives me proper Sonic Adventure vibes. Still don't know if that's good or bad.

EDIT: How the strawberry float do you get 150 gems on that? There's barely any stage there! :fp: total shambles

You're not having much luck with this, are you?!

Yeah, the Casino Rextro game took me a few attempts. Rolling forward at every clear section helped a lot.

As for the Kartos course, if it's the one I'm thinking of, much of it keeps looping back to the same point. If you take the middle route you'll be at the end in no time. Choose the upper and lower routes, and you can repeat them to collect plenty of gems.

That was what I thought but every time I try and go through a different track I end up on the silly ring with the fire blocks with like 70 gems :dread:

Will have another go. Maybe the rextro stages would work better if they went for retro styling too. It's far too cluttered to actual be any fun.

How difficult would it have to been to have some kind of adaptive difficulty on these sections, too? Just like "oh, you've failed 15 times? Try and get at least 100 gems this time" or something. Rather than hiding a boss fight behind a stupid shitty minigame :fp:

Done everything in this world now apart from those. Great. Thanks, Playtonic.

You know you can avoid the fire, right?

You jump over the fire but then you'll miss at least some of the gems. Like the whole thing is put together so you can't get everything

But you can brake or accelerate to time it so the fire has stopped by the time you get there. So you don't need to jump and can collect all the gems.

The braking and accelerating is far too willy-nilly for any kind of accurate control. And if you do it at the wrong time you've got to wait for too long for it to recharge. The whole setup is just designed for frustration and it's unnecessary.

yeh that Kartos stuff is absolute guff. No fun for me at all and so I've only finished one (I think the one on the ice planet)

Really don't want to do the Casino one but the boss is stuck behind it :fp:
