I thought it was basically a worse version of banjo?

I was watching the Giant Bomb quick look and the hitboxes are so strawberry floated up it wouldn't let them jump up this ledge, so they were questioning whether or not they were doing the right thing.

Then after 5 minutes of trying it suddenly decided to start letting them jump up.

I got home early today and played an hour more or so just on the first world. I'm so glad I backed this game. It's so good

One thing I like that separates it from Banjo is that the worlds feels a bit more dynamic. So far I've only played the first world and I've expanded it and then also used nimbus to fill the river and then freeze it. Neat. I enjoyed the Kartos game to. Its clearly not as polished as we would all like but then its also got environments that are more complex then in Banjo and its not as if those games didn't have a few clumsy moments. The concept of the first boss fight is sound but I'd say it was obvious it needed more playtesting to refine it. Perhaps the amount of extras they have had to put in because of the huge success of the kickstarter has just left them having to make too many elements? But anyway apart from a couple of crappy bits so far its been good. Opened up world 2 as it seemed I couldn't make anymore progress in world 1 without more moves.

Music as expected is fab.

In fact, I bought it.

Yes I loved it. I finished Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie 100% so I'm sure I wil like this. I want to play this kind of games for a long time. :)

Rampo is one of the worst bosses I've ever played in a video game. :dread:

Looks like you just roll to the top and peck, get knocked back and try harder - BK had at least 1 *boss* like this

Oh it is simple. It's just really REALLY awkward.

Got 11 pagies in the first world tonight and I don't think I can go any further here with my current moveset. On to world 2!

That Rampo boss was a bit of a banana split. Got him easily enough in the end once I realized you can jump while rolling. I made so many attempts at weaving around the logs before I figured it out. :fp:

Up to about 28 pagies now. The second world is lovely. Its much more open compared to world 1 so whilst it can look a bit sparse the camera is much improved as there is far fewer elements for it to clip against. I really liked the Kartos section again even if it isn't as tight as the minecart bits in the DKCR games. Some quite nice elemental effects going on. Like fire for warmth and honey for grip. I love that googly eyes are an actual enemy in this. A fantastic idea.

That World 1 Boss. I came here to complain but it seems you've all beat me to it. So frustrating with the controls and the camera. I nearly did it first time but when he knocks you down a slope it sent me in to logs and killed me :|

I ended up figuring out if you get low on life, go back across the bridge and you can farm the butterflies that spawn back there. Hopefully it helps someone out

The worlds are huge. And then you can make them even bigger :o I hope there are maps you can unlock/buy in game so you can figure out which collectibles you have already :dread:

Anyone else having problems with the crosshairs while shooting? Mine seems to be off sometimes and the shots fire/land to the outside right edge of the crosshair

It's easy once you realise you can pause mid-roll and that jumping while stationary gives you more height than if you jump while rolling.

Yeah, apart from the game requires you to roll up a ramp before jumping, and you slide back down if you stand still.

So why the strawberry float would anybody try and stand still to jump up?

Looks how long GB struggle with it: https://youtu.be/uEO25GkfkFw?t=437

Awfully designed.

You don't slide back down if you keep hold of the roll button and just don't push up on the analogue stick. True, that's never properly explained, but that's why I'm saying it's easy once you figure that out.

Had a quick go of this on PC, looks lovely and enjoyed the short time I gave it before heading outside in to the real world. Can't stand the character voices though, strawberry floating atrocious :slol:

Anything is easy once you figure it out dude...

That doesn't excuse the fact it's incredibly poorly designed.
