Not necessarily. For example, in a lot of boss fights, you know exactly what to do early on, but the execution might be challenging.

It's interesting that this lack of handholding is praised in some games and roundly criticised in others. When Dark Souls doesn't tell you vital stuff and invites you to figure it out for yourself it's hailed as a masterpiece.

Anyway, I don't think it's a particularly good boss fight. I was just pointing out that it's only difficult until you learn that you don't have to roll continuously. Which is, admittedly, rather counter-intuitive in my book.

It's easy once you realise you can pause mid-roll and that jumping while stationary gives you more height than if you jump while rolling.

Yeah, apart from the game requires you to roll up a ramp before jumping, and you slide back down if you stand still.

So why the strawberry float would anybody try and stand still to jump up?

You don't slide back down if you keep hold of the roll button and just don't push up on the analogue stick. True, that's never properly explained, but that's why I'm saying it's easy once you figure that out.

Yeah I discovered it eventually. Hopefully the other bosses are better.

Well I've read a bunch of reviews and most say that the first few worlds are the best. I just found it funny how people are saying the first two bosses are bad.

I do want to play this when it drops in price, just out of curiosity. It'll probably be a better game then too.

The first two worlds are indeed brilliant. I'm not up to the third yet but it can't be denied that the bosses so far have been awful. The game itself is ace and the boss battles only make up a tiny portion of it.

It's definitely something to pick up at a lower price, I wouldn't pay £35 for it.

£25 would be worth it. Luckily it cost me £15 for backing it.

The gem cave place in world 2 was tricky. Really enjoying the expanded stuff of world 2.ice keys  the rotating pipe bit was a little cack but short. Was getting Rusty Bucket Bay flashbacks. :dread: Second Rextro game much better.

the boiler thing? It wasn't great but I didn't think it was bad. Went on a bit though.

Now stuck in a room with ice cube and some light. I push the ice about and nothing really happens. Can't work this out. Little worried it might be a glitch.

Edit- "it took chuffing ages to make all the collectables dance"

You need a later move.

I also expanded and spent all evening in World 2. I like how it expands in a totally different way to the first one. Great N64 reference, too. And the music continues to be wonderful.

The pagie that makes you do a quiz, though :| He can strawberry float right off, the little banana split.

Thanks. I guessed that so left it for now. Went back to world 1 with my new moves. The pagie that tries to leave the chest.

Stupid question- What does the "Launch in Exclusive Mode" option do? I can't see any difference between that and regular mode.

I expanded World 2 first and got a little stuck with the ice cubes. Couldn't figure out if you were supposed to use them to deflect the light to another screen or let them melt in the light.

It is great as I've been playing it for five hours so far and it's so vibrant in Tribalstack Tropics World.

I've also expanded this World and I am keeping exploring everywhere to see what I can find. It's brilliant and it's relaxing to play too.

My Tribalstack Tropics stats:
12/25 Pagies
136/200 Quills
4/5 Ghost Writers
1/1 Play Coin
1/1 Pirate Treasure
1/1 Mollycool
0/1 Power Extender
0/1 Health Extender

Can't wait to play some more later! :D

For the ice cube room with the light coming through the window you need an ability from a later world.

How many worlds are there? I googled it but didn't see a definite answer. And are the worlds roughly equivalent to a Banjo level?

There are 5 + the hub world. They're about the size of the levels in Tooie, some bigger than others.
