Old enough to set up a team, secure funding and start developing code, old enough.

That guys tweets are strawberry floating pathetic. I had every sympathy for him up to that point. We're only human and I can imagine being a little slack with the offsite backing up as something I could easily slip into, and as such empathised. But instead of holding his hands up and being all "I dun goofed, sorry" and taking the backlash with a little good humour he's alienated his fanbase.

This crisis could have very easily been turned into something relatively positive concerning peoples' views of them, but instead it's just been blown out of proportion. Silly people.

In fairness a lot of the Tweets aimed at him crossed a line. There's constructive criticism and then there's hectoring to soothe a superiority complex.

His reddit comments were actually worse than that, but he's since deleted them.

I know it's not proffesional, but he was probably just annoyed. Not only did his house get burgled and all his work lost (which is to be honest his fault, but it's one of those things you won't think will happen to you), but he had some most likely kids having a go at him online.

There is no 'in fairness' when it comes to responding to negative criticism on the Internet.

All I can say is what a little crybaby unprofessional bitch he is, it's not fair, but they have my money and they should be acting professionally, their actions reflect upon the entire indie gaming scene who need funding.

Should have kept his mouth shut and recovered lost ground by doing his job.

The trolls shoved so he shoved back, what did those guys expect him to say? "Thank you sir may I have another?" How is tweets like "hey you're a retard and your game blows", "HAHA really seems like he's going to kill himself because of how careless he was with the source code" and "So over the course of the past two minutes you've become so weak you've can't take criticism" in any way constructive criticism?

They went looking for a reaction, got it and are now acting indignant about it. Typical self entitled bullshit.

He was pretty naive to expect anything less. It's like having unprotected sex with a homeless.

I had sympathy when I read about them being ransacked. Fair enough, they could have avoided this.

Then I read that some of the tweets. Unprofessional much?

I think people have been growing impatient for a while because this isn't the first sob story they've come out with - a massive blunder like this is going to 'break the camels back' and people will get angry. The devs need to grow up, really, but they have definitely made a very promising game. Once all the bugs are ironed out. And some more content added.

What are you even talking about?

Those type of posts are from people are from trolls who probably haven't even bought the game. The devs are doing the same crybaby stuff that you are doing and assuming that their userbase are the trolls. They respond to trolls publicly while ignoring legitimate concerns from paying consumers.

It's way too unprofessional, I paid for the game, they aren't getting trolled by me, yet you and them are accusing customers of trolling them and the devs were publicly crying about stopping development. It's pathetic.

As a professional why would you even bother with trolls?

I'm not accusing paying customers of being trolls and neither was he.

Then why would it be justified for developers to even respond to trolls?

He was angry, people do stuff they probably shouldn't when they're angry.

I'm sure you'd be pretty angry if your house was burgled, all the work you had been doing was lost and people were having a go at you for gooseberry fool online.

Yeah like when they kept promising the next big update would be out "by the end of the week" when it ended up coming out around two months later.

I would have had regular backups of the project which was my full-time job, and sorting that stuff out rather than getting drunk and embarrassing myself on twitter.

Exactly, they're being unprofessional, they need to stop that crybaby gooseberry fool. It doesn't inspire confidence in their product.

To be fair, they're in pretty good company - both iD and Valve have had games half-inched.
