Saw this - amazingly - on Ctrl Alt Del, and it looks quite interesting.

It's an indie-developed survival RPG currently in development, but as seems to be the trend, the devs are selling access to it early, with subsequent updates being free etc.

It has a retro, isometric style, and you start out as a dude in a house not long after the infection breaks out, however your wife is injured, and you have to survive as long as possible against the horde, searching for food, barricading houses, as well as trying to stay sane.

However, it seems they're having issues selling a game that isn't out yet, so you have to buy one of several other crappy games, that come with a free in-development copy of the game instead. Clever buggers.

For a fiver, i'm tempted.

Looks pretty good, tempted from the screenshots alone.

Yeah, this is good. The atmosphere has a keen sense of dread about it, the music is amazing, and the writing is well subtle for a videogame.

Plus, one of the devs was in my form at school. So buy this, dammit!

I want in, but I want to buy it when it's actually ready, or at least in beta. Or on Steam.

Yeah.

Well, the alternative is buying it now, and choosing not to play it until there's actually something to play. That seems more wasteful to be honest, but that's just me.

How's that £300 Japanese 3DS & £60 import taxes working out for you?

The six games are working out just fine :)

Might buy that Droids game for a fiver to get this, was reading about it on RPS the other week and it sounds pretty good.

I'm in for this.

In the future, my entire pc games library will be playable on portable machines like netbooks and mobile phones. How awesome is that?

Bought, didn't realise it's a browser game. Like $ilva was saying to me earlier, it looks a lot better than it does in the screens - nice pixel art. Lovely little piano tune playing in the background too.

Yeah it looks far better than the screenshots, but then again I'm playing on 1920x1080.

I've actually stopped playing because they're still adding to the game. This is not even a proper alpha, they released this because someone on 4ch*n leaked the code and this is now damage control.

This game has great potential and for a fiver I have a feeling I've funded some great updates to this little game already.

It's a little haunting and eery even though it looks so cartoony.

And for all you Peter Crisps, I actually do hope this game comes to consoles, as I do with every pc game out there, except I don't want it to be made 'accessible' or 'streamlined'.

I'm really not very good at this, need some more practise. Also, is this the city with no beds? I found myself in a house with literally no beds, so couldn't rest

I can't figure out how to save which is the main thing keeping me from playing this further. I'm not even sure if you can save yet.

I don't think you can. There doesn't even seem to be an options menu or anything.

Here's a vid for those that want to see more:

Anyone know if the game can be played entirely with the mouse?

I Got 30 seconds into that before the absolute knobhead "narrating" it put me off completely. From what I saw, the game looks interesting however.

Unfortunately not :( It's still just a tech demo really, not even a proper alpha. In case you don't know, there was a private internal testing going on and it was leaked onto 4ch*n so the devs just said screw it, cats out of the bag, may as well let everyone access it as long as they understand it's a work in progress.

I'll be banging on about full mouse control on their forums though :shifty: I wasn't expecting 'wasd' when I started playing.
