Yeah but then I'd have to delete some stuff to make room. My phone's totally full of Audible stuff atm

The reason Mrs Brown's Boys is top, is because it is the most recent popular show. For the average Joe it's much easier to remember than the office or the IT crowd (although obviously not as good).

Also the reason most of UKers like the show, is that you are all ultra conservative. So any mention of farts, racism, swearing, Irish people, cross dressing, coffee instead of tea etc, just get you rolling around in hysterics as you are like "oh no he didn't".

Of course that type of comedy works anywhere, but just not as well as the UK due to its conservative levels. For example here in NZ, racist jokes are quite common in every day life (even at work). So when a comedian is racist, it doesn't create the same amount of shock value.

"So I hear Asians are bad drivers..." - Comedian
"Yes, that's right. Bloody Asians. What's the joke?" - NZ Audience

I'd argue that as well as conservatism, it has a lot to do with intelligence and sophistication.

Stupid people (and there are plenty in the UK, as there are around the world) like jokes that are spelled out for them - they laugh to show they 'get it' and can be part of the group.

People don't like jokes that contain enough sophistication that means they have to think about it. Jokes that leave anything unsaid; jokes that do anything other than be really literal. It makes them feel stupid.

So a fart joke is funny to people of a lower intelligence. It's just true. My son is five months old and he laughs like a drain when I make raspberry noises. That's the level of Mrs Brown's boys: a five month old who gooseberry fools himself.

That’s a confusing post as I would take “ultra conservative” to mean the racist types that infest places like Breitbart. Your post then reads like NZ is trying to outdo GB on being the most racist.
