There's something so gratifying about a Top-Flight Karate Guy smacking up a mouthy (but untrained) bully. You wish there was always someone like that around when something unjust occurs.

Not that I condone vigilante style violence, of course. :shifty:

Did the job though - the guy could hardly walk afterwards. Probably harder than it looked.

Nah, my point was that at present, brothels and safe houses, and the people that run them, are the main thing that prevents clients attacking the women. Like the statistic I posted before, 95% of street workers (who are less likely to have a pimp than brothel workers) have been attacked by a client, 75% raped.

Remove the brothels, and the pimps and madams that run them, and the women are forced to ply their trade on the much more dangerous streets.

But you obviously get violent pimps as well.

By making brothels legal, prostitutes could be forced to practice safe sex. Owners would be forced to treat women better, they could work shifts and be paid better.

..That's what I'm saying. Removing the brothels does nothing but move the prostitutes outside. It's an attempt to stop trafficking, and women being sold into prostitution. But an 'authority' on the subject says the statistics are wildly made up, and that most sex is consensual. Most street workers don't have pimps/madams (according a few sources I found), and it is the street workers that suffer the most at the hands of aggressive clients.

It looked weak but I doubt it was, it was aimed at the neck.

Karate is about getting maximum force into the smallest movement by using your whole body.

It might look a bit rudimentary because it is a lower level attack, but when someone who is well trained does it right, it will demolish a person, you can tell when the karate guy does it that he did it correctly because he follows through.

Michael Howard is against this as he says it's un-enforcible.

Legalise prostitution, make people get a licinse to do it, introduce compulsory medical and psychological examinations for all sex workers every four months to make sure none of them are being abused or are carry STDs. Prostitutes get protectected (legal brothels would have security guards and the full backing of the law), criminal pimps have their assets dry up, people who use prostitutes are checked and banned if they misbehave, the government gets lots of license fees and VAT!

It seems insane that things are the way they are now, all thanks to people with particular moral sensibilities trying to force them on others who may not necessarily agree with them and in defiance of obvious reason.

BBC Radio Interviewer: "We went out and ask several women about their experiences"

BBC: "So do you have a pimp?"

Hooker : "Nah...well I suppose my Drug dealer."

Legalise it. Don't criticise it.
