Just bought a new 80gb PS3 with MGS4 and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction.
PSN ID is to the left.

Need some suggestions into what PSN demos, games to download and will I need to buy a HDMI cable to make the most out of this rather snazzy looking console?

Thanks y'all

If you have a High Definition television, most definitely.

HDMI is a must if you have an HDTV. Still can't believe Sony don't put one in the box.

You should download Riff:Everyday Shooter, Pixel Junk Monsters, Eden, Racers, Ratchet And Clank Quest For Booty, Super Stardust HD.

It's not as much of a crime as leaving out Wi-Fi though, is it?

If you have a YUV-component AV cable from a PS2 that will also work and save you a tenner or so.

Personally I love playing Warhawk and its booster packs.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Two words

Un Charted.

The only AAA game on the console imo. MGS4 made me cry in its boringness :(

Uncharted along with Ratchet And Clank are just amazing games and I'd pick both of those over most games on any system. But I am an Insomniac and Naughty Dog fanboy

Wifi 360 thingamebob is only 40yoyo, which means its still cheaper than the PS3.

Over time ive gone from being interested in the PS3 to being annoyed at it for being a bit rubbish at the start, to now not even caring about it anymore as it has absolutley nothing on it that the 360 hasnt. Trolling maybe but if I made a topic of my 'meh'-ness of the PS3 it would be locked. :)

Cannot agree with this. A console marketed as Full HD needs to be Full HD out of box not with an optional extra. Wifi is a choice you can make to have or not but HDMI is a necessity for next gen gaming.

It's cocktail time!. Then again when isn't it.

OK, just got back in from work to give me new PS3 a proper look at, and I've already run into a small hickup.
Just tried to load up Ratchet & Clank and it's telling me that my never used 80gb HDD has no space left to install. I'm trying a HDD Format to see if that works.
Anyone else had this problem?

On the bright side, Nintendo are sorting that out for MS.
