So, with PS3 totally lacking a standardised featurelist for its games, and reviews barely touching on what's included, it can often be that you never really know what you're getting until you've already bought it. With this in mind, I've decided to put together a list of all the online PS3 games, detailing what features are included in each, to serve as a reference for people looking to buy said games. It'll be impeccably presented with icons and all that gooseberry fool.

The features included in the list I've been working on are:

Online Play
Online High-Scores
Voice Chat
Text Chat
Dedicated Servers
Invites
Cross Game Invites
YouTube Uploading

Are there any other features people would be interested to know if a game included?

Also, this is a pretty big task, so if you fancy lending a hand to something useful, throw me a PM with a list of PS3 games you own that have online modes, as I can only do the detailed list for games I own myself without some painstaking research.

You'll need to add clan support (Killzone 2 and SOCOM come to mind), custom soundtracks and user generated content (LittleBIGPlanet and UT3).

UGC and clan support make sense, but custom soundtracks isn't really an online feature.

I could expand the list to include offline games too (which I'd happily do) if people wanted it. I'd include Trophies too if I did.

You gonna do a table image or all text? As a suggestion a table image would probably be easier to digest...X axis for the features and Y axis for the games.

Anyways, I'll help whatever you do.

Do any PS3 games have leaderboards that support your friends list...

...seeing as thats the only type of leaderboard that is at all interesting unless you happen to be brilliant at a game.

Yes...Super Stardust HD top scores and GT5P lap times, as examples.

Pretty much all the games with leaderboards let you filter by the same three criteria.

"Top score" shows the top scores in the world
"My score" scrolls directly to where you are in the leaderboards
"Friends" shows just you and your friends, ranked accordingly.

It's definitely not going to be just text.

I was thinking a nicely spaced list of the game names (possibly with the game logo), with self-explanatory icons representing each feature included underneath each.

Yep, that would work nicely. Need to design the icons...which would be interesting.

If there is a patch and what size it is - lots of folk don't like buying a game then seeing they need a big patch - knowing in advance may soften the blow.

Cross game invites and voice comms within the XMB would be a great addition. The party idea from the 360 would also be a great addition to the PS3.

Well, I'm thinking it'd be in a style like the ones on the back of the boxes. So, SFIV would look something like this:

Street Fighter IV

Excellent idea. It's going to take a hell of a lot of work, though, so I'll leave it until the original list is finished before adding it.
