I was expecting some sort of Sony news before the MS event. Wished they'd have shown a little more but at least I know it's rectangular and black.

This gives time for the video to spread to the mainstream press and take the sheen off Microsoft's own announcement, which I expect to be big in itself.

The controller is the system.

It feels like it could go either way from that teaser. You'd hope, after the perfection of design that they displayed with Vita that they're going to nail it. But honestly, prior to Vita, the last PlayStation console design I truly liked was the original PSOne. The original PS3 is easily one of the ugliest consoles of all time, for me.

Some of the shots in that teaser look strangely reminiscent of the 360S. Judging by the reaction of the PS contingent to the 360S here, I can't imagine many will be happy if it turns out similar. It does seem a little Vader like, but matte. Although they're likely extreme close-ups of completely random points, which probably bear very little of striking note to the overall design.

Can't wait until we get to see it. Strangely exciting for something that is of a lower rung of importance in the greater scheme of things.
