OK so I was recently given a broken PS4 by a charity shop, as a gift for giving them a donation and a christmas card... I never expected it would work but I have managed to get it on but I have an issue someone has snapped the metal bit inside which makes the power button work, so sure the machine can be used by turning it on via a pad or putting in a disc or by opening it up and touching the power point but id really really like to repair it properly, from looking and comparing basically the metal bit which bends down and touched the power button has been snapped does anyone know of anywhere that would sell one of these.
Its a tiny little metal clip, I didnt think of photoing it , I am going to see if I can conect an extra little bit of metal to it tonight to see if that does the trick if not I will photo it and post it...
Currently have the console doing a total factory reset.
To be honest if the console works I'd leave it as is.
Thanks Dowbocop, the decisions kind of been taken out of my hands, I'd told my 16 year old daughter if I could fix it was hers, and so she's run off with it to her room and taken one of my PS4 pads, she's happy so I will just take your advice and leave it as is

No worries, it's a useful site for bringing electronics back from the scrap heap and getting a few extra years out of them. I fixed the bedroom TV with it when the buttons on the unit went haywire, I can only use the remote to control it now but it still works!
