PostPS4 headset help- Creative Fatal1ty
by MrKirov » Thu Dec 12, 2013 5:44 pm

Hey all, hoping someone can help. I have a paid of Creative Fatal1ty headphones which I can't seem to get to work on my PS4.

The sound comes through the headset easy enough, but the microphone refuses to work, and the PS4 doesn't acknowledge there is a mic plugged in.

The headset had two 3.5mm jacks, and assumed that was the problem as the controller only takes one. I bought a big standard 3.5mm Y splitter from eBay, and even though now both cables are plugged in, the microphone still doesn't work.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to get them working, or do I have to buy another headset?

Please help!

One of those jacks feeds the mic, so using the splitter to feed it still isn't giving it the dedicated feed it needs.

Unless you can replace the whole cable and it's not hard wired, I think you're out of luck.

Something like this should do the job.

Oh right, thanks.

So is that different from the standard 3.5mm splitter I bought from eBay for £1? I assumed they were the same thing but then ready the blurb on amazon suggests not- although they look the same!!

A standard stereo splitter has two rings on the end, this one has 3 - 2 for stereo, one for your mic.

Sorry for shaking the thread back to life but i experience the same problem. I cant seem to make the ps4 to recognize the mic. I would be really happy if anyone knows what to do.

I'm gonna move this to Games where more folks with a PS4 might see it. Good luck!

The adaptor mentioned in the posts above worked fine- and made the headset work for both sound and mic- bargain for a fiver :)
