Man, that's some pain right there. I guess downloading software could be as bad.

It's hard to decide.

Pfff chick's get painkillers. We have to just sit there watching a progress bar. I know what I would prefer.

No chance of the wife reading this thread so I think I will be safe with that comment

I certainly think that even without seeing the NX, if you only have a few hundred to spend on a console in the next year and you already have a PS4, then the NX is obviously the logical choice. You'll at least get some exclusive games and new experiences, instead of all the games you already have at a marginally improved frame rate.

I'm reasonably confident that Zelda won't be the only game on the NX.

Surely to get the best out of this you'd need a 4K TV? That's what I'm getting for [REDACTED].

It seems so. Even after reading so many articles on the ps4 pro i am still not sure how much more 1080p owners will benefit, so i cancelled my order.

Quite.

The aim is twofold: to give 4k tv owners some content, and to convince non-4k tv owners that there is a suitable reason to buy a 4k tv.

The line that 'there are benefits for 1080p' is just a line; the benefits will be negligible.

Of course, with all that in mind, it makes the omission of a UHD BR drive all the more baffling, but I guess we've been over that.

Just put the PS4 on rest mode and let it download it overnight.

Also if I know there's a game going to be released the next day, I just put the console on rest mode and then purschase the said game from PS Store and make it download from my work and the game should be done by the time I get home. 8-)

Wanted another ps4 so could play destiny with the gf. The pricing of this and the fact it will give me more value from my HDR 4k TV is just the right sweet spot for me. Canceled my PS VR headset gonna get this instead.

Genuinely not fussed over the lack of UHD BR. Think Sony is right that it's just not that desirable. Streaming is all you need. Physical media is growing more redundant as time passes. I have 120ish ps4 games I own 0 physical.

4K streaming is a right load of bollocks. The only way to watch genuine uncompressed UHD content is on BluRay.

If you're not arsed about that, then fair enough.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Digital Foundry have had a look at the PS4 Pro version of COD-whatever-it-is-now:

I really don't think I can be arsed. Such a disappointment.

It's still early days and there was no chance Activision were going to do anything that approached putting some effort in.

They say it's a 'striking upgrade' over 1080p. What else were you hoping for?

Due to poor BB in my area streaming on my 4K TV, (particularly in 4K), is pretty poor. I already have a PS4 and the Pro not having a dedicated 4K UHD player as standard killed any chance of me buying a Pro stone dead. This is why I have opted for an X1S.

I can't even stream HD

Rather than upgrade to anything now, I'm going to wait. Whereas a UHD drive in the Pro might have convinced me to upgrade.

Well you can't exactly call it streaming here, more like a virtual slide-show. That's the one of the probs I have as a PC gamer as well. Big games can take up to a day to download.

As for the UHD drive I was after a dedicated UHD blu-ray player so the X1S which provides this option as well as being a games console and only being £249 is the obvious choice. My TV while excellent quality isn't HDR ready, but I can live without that.

Yeah, I guess the players are still pretty expensive. If you're getting one, might as well make it the 1S.
