Via my iPad I can't download the full version but the Bikes version does say 'download to your ps4' but nothing happens when I select that.

All because I upgraded my Pro HDD! I've restored my licences too but no joy.

Any ideas?

Do you have two PS4s and if so, is the Pro set as your main PS4?

Yes and yes. Tried on both ps4's and get the same message. I am still a psplus member (till 27/12/17) but initially got the message that content had expired and had to be re-something (can't recall if said renewed or repurchased). Either way I've restored licences on both PS4s but still no joy

On mine I feel the biggest improvement is the download speed; the 5 Ghz wireless adapter works much better with my wifi. Apart from that... uhm... apparently the shadows are better in some games. So Digital Foundry says.

 .

I would say those with 1080p sets won't see a massive difference, but will notice some improvements.

4k is where its at and some games like infamous and even the last of us look stunning, especially if you have hdr.

Seems like gamers aren't ready for 4K yet

I wonder what the userbase for 4K TVs is though.

I jumped in for the Pro even though my TV can only play games at 1080p. I had expected a jump in image quality and frame rate but, to be honest, I haven't really noticed any difference.

I played The Last Guardian on the Pro and apparently that delivered a better performance than if I'd played on the standard PS4. Overall, though, I'm kinda thinking that the alleged extra power isn't being used by most games. It feels to me that the 4K display capability has come around a bit too early for most folk and that there could be more attractive benefits in boosting 1080p performance.

I feel like the Pro is an answer to a question nobody was asking.

Would anyone have been that arsed if a proper 4k PS5 just came out at the back end of 2018 instead?

I bought a Pro without owning a 4K TV. The main reason for getting one early was the ensure that I got a favourable price for my old PS4; after price matching with CEX, Game gave me £176, so I was pretty happy. Overall, I'm not disappointed with the Pro on my 1080p display. Games look a little sharper and the UI is a little snappier. Of course I realise it will come into it's own when I get a 4K TV, but I'm loathe to purchase one yet, as it seems to be a bit of a minefield. Proper 4K, HDR 10, input lag, the list goes on, I'm happy to hold out until a well priced 4K TV comes out that ticks all the boxes. I'm hoping I won't have too wait to long......

There was recently a poll on Neogaf, seems like most people are happy for Sony to release PS5 in 2020 providing there's BC.

I'd expect 4K to be a bit more mainstream by then.

I dunno what Sony's expectations were, but I'd be very impressed if Pro models made up even 25% of the total PS4 sales since December. I don't think it was meant to be a replacement like a New 3DS. It's just a high end option for those who care. When the Slim was under £200 with 2/3 games through December, most people will go for that.

I wonder whether developers will simply go back to focusing on 1080p seeing as the Pro/4K audience is so small and doesn't look like changing.

I wonder how this bodes for 'Scorpio' too.

Its easier to develop a 4K mode rather than improve the framerate on the PS4 Pro, so I don't see that happening!

Personally, I prefer 4K updates - have you played Fifa 17 in 4K? Its unbelievably sharp!

They won't. 4K is here to stay. In a year or two you won't be able to buy a 1080p by a half decent manufacturer over 32".

Most big retailers have fewer 1080p TVs on sale than 4K.

Im planning on picking up Scorpio (at launch) and the get a 4K TV up in Newry on Black Friday. 8-)

As with the Pro, I reckon having a 4K TV is the only way to get the most out of it.

Yep, pretty much the same here, too. I'm not really all that interested in getting a 4K TV tbh. I think over the next 12 months we'll see more and more PS4 games come with added graphical benefits for 1080p users, such as options for framerate vs HD textures, downsampling from 4K, etc. Already a fair few games seem to have nice little optional extras for PS4Pro users. Sure, most of the time I don't really notice them (I only have a Pro now - I sold my PS4 a while ago); to me games just look good and when they are Pro-ready (with extra options in the Graphics Menu) they look really good, even at 1080p.

Was it worth the upgrade? Just depends on where your priorities lie. I wanted the best the PS4 could offer, even though I'm not using a 4K TV, so it was an investment in the hope that developers will not forget that the vast majority of owners will probably not have a 4K TV but still be looking for their games to optimise that extra muscle provided by their new Pros on a 1080p screen.
