Well, I don't really want to get rid of my old machine; it has a 2Tb drive in it and it works well. The newer machine only has 1Tb so I plan to use them in tandem.

It has probs blown getting a Switch out of the water for a while but I was planning to check that out over time rather than diving right in anyway.

You do realise we were all joking about any improvements using a Pro, right?

 .

It's here! Just opened the box and am about to set it up. I've gotta unplug either my 360 or PS3 to free up an HDMI socket... I think my 360 is gonna have to stand down for a while :( .

Either PSN has suddenly decided to speed up or the Pro's 5Ghz wireless adaptor really is making a difference... downloading is running a fair lick faster than on the original PS4.

Still not played anything yet. Modern console gaming = several hours setup  . Rise of The Tomb Raider will kick off the show :toot: .

Thanks, Cal! It was folk like you talking about it that pushed me into going for it :) .

RotTR has just finished downloading... I'm amazed. It seems to have completed way faster than on my older PS4.

I know that some of you guys have access to more than one PS4...

Is it possible to logon to more than one console at a time? Or would that cause an armageddon situation?

EDIT: Well, I've just answered that for myself in the most stupid of ways :fp:   ... I got mixed up between the two controllers and powered up the older PS4 by mistake... which meant that I was automatically logged out of the Pro :fp:  .

Welcome to the Pro club Jawa!

I've today ordered a 2tb HDD to put in my Pro. Can't be doing with the limited storage on the 1TB anymore

Wireless is BS. I have a 2.4ghz dongle on my desktop which I've tried replacing with two different 5ghz dongles, each running more slowly so given up on changing dongles. Never had a problem with PS4 download speed so it comes down to each person's environment.

I'm going to pick up my Pro when i'm back from holiday, I will be transferring all my save data and some installed games from my original PS4 to the Pro, 2 questions

1.) You need a LAN cable to do the transfer correct? Will this one be fine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1M-BLACK-Ethernet-CAT-5e-RJ45-Network-LAN-Patch-Cable-Lead-PC-PS3-PS4-Xbox-360-/351019960149?hash=item51ba6b8755%3Ag%3AqWgAAMXQRPRTHHSz&_trkparms=pageci%253Acffd1a5f-bec3-11e6-b772-74dbd180a4dc%257Cparentrq%253Ae849a3481580a2a4d6705b87ffddd4c3%257Ciid%253A5

2.) can I pick and choose what saved game installs I transfer over? For instance I only really want to transfer all my game saves, P.T demo and the Lego Dimensions installed game with patches

Best thing to do is leave your original console as your main machine but create a new PSN ID for it and login using that. On the Pro, login with your normal PSN account and then you will have access to all downloads and online play on both machines at the same time.

Yeah, the environment is a big factor, Deaths, but - for me - the Pro's downloading is way faster than on my original PS4 :o . I live in a flat and so perhaps the 2.4Ghz zone is busy whilst the 5Ghz zone is clearer?

Thanks, man. I'll probs just use my single ID as it's only gonna be me using the machines. If a game has a decent Pro patch I'll play it on that, else I'll play it on the older PS4.

Likely. Do you not have an app on your phone to scan the frequencies? You can then change the channel on the 2.4ghz for one that is less crowded.

Yes, according to this FAQ: https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/11 ... o-ps4-pro/ So you should be okay. A shame it doesn't allow for a more specified transfer, though. (You know, select games/saves/captures as opposed to it being limited to folders in their entirety.)

KK wrote:(Huge - and useful - list of new TV response times)

I dunno... this feels like a bit of a step backwards to where we were years ago. I picked up a Samsung monitor for my parents about eight years ago which had a response time of 2ms; and now it's a big thing if the new TVs hit 25 ms. I know that the new screens offer "better quality" etc, but it doesn't seem that great, really.
