Thrill seekers and problem solvers will shortly be able to experience a whole new level of entertainment in Lincoln as the first virtual reality venue in the UK and exit game adventure simulator gets set to open its doors.

The venue, which will open at the end of June after an investment of over £200,000, will be based in a refurbished church on Croft St.

Tension Exit Games, located on the ground floor, will be the first venue of its kind in the East Midlands where groups of two to eight people will tap into their problem solving abilities in a fictional reality.

It will be a cross between a Crystal Maze style game and a detective scenario with actors helping to give a true immersive experience.

Upstairs will be a first for the UK as Tension VR allows participants to experience a different type of reality using the new HTC Vive virtual reality headset.

Adventurers will be able to experience whatever they like, from playing their favourite computer games to travelling to the moon.

There will be four rooms in which each person will be able to slip into a different reality.

Not sure I'd want to use a VR headset that hundreds of other people had used before me.

Presumably they get cleaned, it doesn't put me off.

This sounds pretty cool to me

Namco are bringing VR arcades to Japan

http://gematsu.com/2016/03/bandai-namco ... o-april-15

They're already bringing Ace Combat, Tekken and Summer Lesson to PSVR , along with their traditional arcade pedigree I think they're in the best position for success.

With AMD releasing the low cost RX 480, is the thumbnail for the YT video in the opening post out of date info?

I think The Void (which opened last night in New York) will be one of the most successful forms of public VR. Essentially you walk around a LazerQuest style 'maze' which combines a VR overlay with physical wall and objects.

Imagine actually running around in Doom while being chased by demons.

I have heard of a VR place in Belfast, near the SSE arena.

That does look pretty strawberry floating good, way better than anything you could realistically do with a Vive or Occulus Rift at home.

I think The Void will literally fill the void left by the demise of LaserQuest. It's getting rave reviews and this is their first live location.

I always thought this could be a great idea as they can not only have the best pc equipment that most can't afford they can also have places set-up for things like fps games with or some amazing driving seats and wheels.
Once the headsets become wireless I think this could be the next version of laser quest as well with games that have people from all over the country joining in for vast virtual battles.

With the relatively small map sizes it has this tech could be used to recreate the multiplayer levels from The Last of Us which would be pretty great as the game itself is slow pace anyway.
The only hard part would be recreating the elevation changes of the levels and maybe the water at the bottom of the damn level.

There was a pop-up VR demonstration in Middlesbrough yesterday where you could basically try out Job Simulator on an Occulus Rift.

Or you could go to GAME and pay a tenner to try it out I suppose.

Galactica is utter utter gooseberry fool. The VR ruins an awesome coaster. The headsets are crud and the animation is big open space stuff so you kind of lose the movement a bit.
Totally pointless and not worth having, thankfully it is optional so you can just ride it as Air.

Just like everything else that uses Galaxy VR. That thing needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history but it seems to be making Samsung some decent money.

Are the Galactica headsets working at the moment? My brother was telling me they've been down the entire season so far this year.

They were optional anyway though weren't they?
