Hi All,

I've been speaking to Pedz a bit about doing something like this, although my initial plan was to play Famicom exclusive games. I realised that this limited my selection quite a lot in what I could actually be playing/streaming. This is where the following idea spawned. I realised as most people here don't often play Japanese games or maybe haven't even heard of some of them. What I want to do is find some obscure games each week and throw them up to a vote. They might not all be from Japan, but given the target audience I thought that might be an easy way of explaining things. The idea behind this is to introduce you to some games you might never have seen or tried and hopefully get you playing some different genres from what you're used to!

I'll be broadcasting on the grcade channel at http://www.twitch.tv/grcadeuk and I'll likely be broadcasting from 8PM to 9PM each week.

I'll pop the first games up tomorrow.

I thought it was Qikz as in Kikz not Quikz?

Qikz without the Q may as well just be Kicks, you can't be making both the Q and Z redundant.

First game has to be Doki Doki Panic.

Week 1 Games:

No. 1 - Akumajou Special - Boku Dracula-kun!

The self-proclaimed Demon King, Kid Dracula, has awoken from a long sleep, only to discover that the demon Galamoth has challenged him. Swiping his father's cape, it is then up to Kid Dracula to set out on an adventure to destroy the monster, and retake his throne. Platformer

No. 2 - Downtown Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki Dayo - Zenin Shūgou!

A follow up to Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari (River City Ransom in the west) which takes Kunio-kun and pals back to the fuedal Japan to act out a period drama. Beat'em up

No. 3 - Fire Emblem: Gaiden

This game is infuriatingly difficult and mean when it comes to AI lucky crits. It follows Alm and Celica two lifelong friends who find themselves caught up in something much bigger. I probably won't be able to do this in one week and while I hate the game, I love it in a weird way. It changes up the Fire Emblem formula quite a lot, some things never to return. Strategy

I'm going to focus on Famicom games this week, but it won't be all I play. Just thought it'd be easier to start with some early games you may have never played or seen. Poll is up. Get voting and whichever one wins by 7PM on Friday I'll be playing Live on the GRcade channel at 8PM.

This sounds like an interesting project, Qikz . I'm sure that there must be lots of cool Japanese games that many GRcadians are not aware of, so it'll be great to see you share your insight on them.

I did play it, but only for about 30 minutes, no one being there for chat kinda sucked the fun out of it for me.

I think one of your first tasks is to sort out a god damned banner for the OP!
