Quake Champions

Quake. Is. Back.
The fast, skill-based arena-style competition that turned the original Quake games into multiplayer legends is making a triumphant return with Quake Champions. Running at an impressive 120hz with unlocked framerates, id Software’s new multiplayer shooter is getting ready to take PC gaming by storm once more.
Quake Champions features a roster of unique characters, each with their own distinctive abilities, allowing you to fight the way you want.

PC only? After how well Doom performed in PS4/XBO they'd be stupid not to bring this to consoles.

It'll be great having this and the new Unreal Tournament. Really missed arena-style FPS' in recent years.

Certainly looks like a better sequel than UT3 ever was to the Unreal series.
Gun models look a bit gooseberry fool, too clunky but outside of that it looks good.

This series only really works on PC as it's all about speed and twitch reactions but also about tuning a PC to make the game run as well as possible. It's not just about the game it's pretty much the whole experience of it, like owning a kit car you can buy it ready made but the joy is in making it yourself and chatting with others who are doing the same.
It's quintessentially a PC game and I just don't think it could work on consoles.

Rare agreement here but yeah I loved Q3A on Dreamcast, I did play with mouse and keyboard though, something that looks like coming to Xbox apparently.

As long as everyone on consoles is playing with a controller it's a level playing field.

That's serious. It looks pretty damned good from what I've seen and from what I've heard quake pros have said it feels like Quake 3 to play.
