Morning - Breakfast
Late Morning - Brunch (if I forget to eat breakfast or wake up late)
Afternoon - Lunch
Evening - Dinner
Late Evening - Supper (if I decide to eat something light late at night)

I didn't think supper was actually a thing outside Victorian period drama.

"I shall take supper in the drawing room tonight Jeeves. See that the servants are disciplined for referring to the main evening meal as dinner when it is quite clearly tea!"

In all honesty I couldn't really give a crap what it's called, it's always easy enough to work out what meal someone is referring to based on context. I doubt a life was ever lost over a dinner/tea misunderstanding!

Nobody has lunch at 12 unless they're at work and that's where their lunch break falls.

Yeah, not so many people work that exact schedule.

Dinner is your main meal of the day whether it's afternoon or evening. If you have dinner in the afternoon, then you have tea in the evening. If you have dinner in the evening, then you would've had have lunch in the afternoon.

Nah. Lunch doesn't suddenly get rebranded just because it's your bigger meal of the day.

As if imperial isn't bad enough you need to complicate it even further :dread:

The British combination of metric and imperial is just daft.

We need to pick a side, ie metric, and fully commit. Probably want to be leaving behind anything to do with the imperial empire anyway...

Yeah, and what do you do if your two meals are of equal size?

Why make things simple when you can make it needlessly complicated and then mock people who struggle to understand it?
Why else did we bother building an empire?

If they're not that big, then it would be lunch and tea. If they are both quite big, then it can be either lunch and dinner, or dinner and tea, depending on what you want to call it.

For a dinner to be called a dinner, it needs to be fairly substantial.

We didn't loot, plunder or pillage anyone.
We just strategically redistributed wealth from other places that obviously didn't need it to people here who did like those downtrodden super rich.
