I still can't believe that the media keeps telling me that senior ministers and the Queen are unharmed. I don't need to know that, it's strawberry floating obvious that they are fine, I'm pretty confident the headline would be that teressa may was dead or injured if she was involved. You might as well tell me that David Beckham wasn't involved as well.

I also now know that Boris Johnson is in Washington and amber rudd is in Pakistan as I may have been concerned that they were involved as well.

You posted how horrible it was to see an injured person that you didn't want to, then followed it up with a video of a dead person.

I see where the confusion comes from. I was commenting on the NY Post picture, it was a bad surprise to see on the front page but my comment 'bastards' was aimed at the terrorist/s.

There was a very brief distant shot but I understand, this isn't the place for that. I've removed the link to the Twitter video and will ask the person who quoted to do the same. Thank you.

Any stabbing or shooting in London should have it's own thread. London is that important.

It's more that members of this forum might be directly affected. I was actually in that area this morning.

I know, I wasn’t being completely serious. But any stabbing, shooting, car crash or anything else in this country could involve a forumite, this looks like it is probably terrorist related but is that alone enough for a thread to be started when we don’t bother when there are people killed in a big crash on the M5?

Dreadfully poor show; really disappointing, to be honest. I hope - and, looking at your subsequent post, believe, Moggy - that this was hot-head, not-really-thinking posting.

Not hot head, not thinking but the news I was seeing was somewhat behind what actually happened while we were posting earlier. When I was posting the attack seemed to be somebody got shot while trying to stab a policeman. A serious incident to be sure, but not something to have an entire thread about - gooseberry fool like that happens all the time.

As I saw more news, it became clear that there were multiple people hurt and now one or two people are dead. That isn't something to make jokes about and so I regret being lighthearted earlier on.

What were you watching? From here it was immediately apparent that it was an attack outside Westminster Palace which obviously makes it high profile.

Police offer that got stabbed has apparently died.

I will wait to hear more, but this is strawberry floating gooseberry fool. It sucks that innocent bystanders get caught up in situations like this.

I also hope no one uses this incident for political gains or justification for scapegoating. I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I wasn't watching anything, I was at work. The news on here and the BBC at the time only mentioned a firearms incident near parliament following the stabbing of a police officer.

Awful stuff. The timing can't be a coincidence. No way of predicting attacks like this either.

At least we have jokes about Brexit to lighten the mood though.

So quite obvious it was a bit serious.

Anyway, I don't care either way but your post was clearly misjudged rather than uninformed.

Horrific news yet again. Feel for the family of the people killed. I love that area of the city as I always feel the history and romance of that area whenever I visit.

I'm not going to argue about it, I've accepted I was wrong. From what I knew at the time an idiot stabbed a policeman and got shot for it. I didn't know anybody had died or that anyone was seriously injured other than the attacker. I then saw more information and realised my posts were wrong.

Wouldn't be surprised if all police operating in the Westminster area are now always armed. Makes sense considering the high profile nature of the location.

Terrorist suspect pictures.

Seems he's alive. Earlier info had him as killed on sight. Unless there's 2 terrorists which was suggested earlier.

If people are going to insist on filming gooseberry fool like this, can they not at least film it in landscape mode? Portrait mode video being shown over and over in the bbc and it's a total waste of time.

Tommy Robinson (EDL) in London trying to be relevant and exploit this.

I watched a few seconds where he says there are over 6000 people who have gone to fight for ISIS abroad and raped, killed and beheaded and have been allowed back to the UK. The 6000 number seems high but the returning jihadists fact is a reality. If people, British citizens, have a mindset to go an fight then come back, that feeling they have is not likely to suddenly subside. They may well radicalise others. The government needs to remove citizenship of anyone who goes to fight for ISIS.

Horrific - but in some ways I'm more worried about what people will use as justification for
