He claims she had "two separate public mental breakdowns" before the trip was over. These breakdowns, insisted Malka, were related to a "history of serious mental illness."

He really isn't helping himself by going on the attack like this, even if every word he was saying were true all this is going to accomplish is further rallying people against him. I have to question the wisdom of speaking to a journalist directly like this rather than through a lawyer. Especially before he's released any kind of official statement that was promised to the community.
It doesn't help Leupp's argument that she entered into a consensual sexual relationship with him after, that will almost certainly be used against her by his supporters (You wouldn't think he had any left but, y'know, the internet), but it doesn't excuse EviLore's actions one bit.

Bad situation really. I mean it's safe to assume he's been a scumbag to numerous people, this is just a single account. I liked reading GAF. Its an immense resource for breaking news. But if GAF existing means Tyler can use its rep to be skeezy then bye I guess.

Threads in both Gaming and Off Topic were being created non-stop calling out EviLore as a scumbag, members quitting, every existing thread was getting derailed, it was more or less pointless being there.
There's also the potential for legal issues with it being discussed somewhere so openly I'd imagine.

It doesn't look good at all how hostile he's being in that interview, comes across as a complete banana split unsurprisingly.

They had a large team of mods and admins and, going by the archive of the site from shortly before it was taken off line, they all left apart from Evilore and one other. There's no way they would have been able to manage all the fallout from this, the place would have been a mess.

My brain cells have died reading that he is going to carry on like nothing happened.

I suppose he feels that doing anything other than carrying on as normal would be an admission of guilt in some way.

Quite a few seem fine with the mail so will be fine on that front.

Who the hell would want to moderate that place now? Will he be doing background checks to make sure he doesn't give mod duties to more paedos?

The only thing working for him is that it takes ages to get accepted there. So some people will think twice before creating more Half life 3 reveal threads plus you can't create threads even when you are a junior member.

Doing away with offtopic is not going to make a difference. One of my pet hates going there was how they moaned about a game when it didn't have a transgender black character. It was hilarious that they were demanding that Nintendo make Link a girl.
