It's probably the girl in the pink outfit in the other day's trailer.
The outfits in xenoblade x are not skimpy by default.. And you can have them all wear swimwear if you want. The thing I found hilarious after they removed the boob slider from the uk version was I couldn't reduce the size of my female character's breasts.

I definitely see why it would annoy someone, I always think when game devs dress their characters up like that, it's a bit... you know...? Needless? Embarrassing?
But it's not really worth losing your gooseberry fool over. You've got to live a pretty dull life if things like that make you "livid."

They're akin to suspenders/bracers. You know, to help keep her thong in place. Apologies if you were already aware of this.
+1 to not being a fan of needless skimpification of female characters. Currently playing Ys 8 and I can't play it in front of anyone because one of the better playable characters is in a permanent state of undress and the camera often shoots her from the butt up.
