Here we go again! This time between a cyclist and a lorry driver.

Seems like the cyclist is in the wrong in this one. He tried to overtake the lorry driver in traffic from what I can gather from the driver swearing his head off.

Will be interesting to see the responses from the die hard cyclists.

I had someone trying to say the other day that it's perfectly ok for a cyclist to be in the road now central London has purpose built bike lanes. Yes, legally but you'd be a prick to do it.

Purpose built lanes are all well and good if your destination is at the end of it. For me - nope.

I love how the other cyclist immediately came over to help the cyclist, as if they're always the victim.

The cyclist was 100% in the wrong with this one though. Overtaking a truck on a push bike, what was he thinking?!

What we don't know from this is how long was the cyclist behind the lorry for and what speeds was the lorry doing. Was he particularly slow and pulling away a lot and the cyclist felt that he could overtake like a number of cars would do.

In my opinion it doesn't look like a good decision on the cyclists part as it wasn't a safe place to try to get past the lorry. But what is also clear here is the lorry driver then appears to decide to speed up and not allow the cyclist who is now along side him to get past. I've seen this a number of times on single carriageway roads with cars where someone is overtaking and the vehicle being overtaken then speeds up to stop the overtaker getting in front of them.

Both made very poor decisions. This is of course based on the limited footage available.

The cyclist then oversteps the mark even further by assaulting the lorry driver. Again he appears to be the first to do this as we don't see what happened initially when the driver gets out off camera. The lorry driver does appear to be just trying to hold the cyclist off to begin with.

I'd say the truck was doing a good job of pulling away as you can see the car and van don't get too far ahead. Bit of a difference between 2 similar vehicles (car and car) and a truck/bike situation.

Cyclist was being a knob.

In London we now have the "Cycle Super Highway" which basically involves taking away some of the car space, enduring even worse traffic while they are carrying out the works and it seems a gooseberry fool attitude form cyclists when you point out they should use it. "Oh but I don't have to"

In some parts, 2 lanes are now 1 narrow so that when a truck is in traffic, the lane is not wide enough for motorbikes to get past.

A lot of cyclists are banana splits, I regularly shout at them when cycling for not stopping at lights, bumping onto pavements at junctions, ice had them swerve infront of me when cycling to go of a turning because they were overtaking at the time instead of slowing and safely turning of behind me. Way to many of them are dicks.

just like drivers though. the issue i have is if a driver makes a poor decision and hits me i might die, and he/she will get a dent at worst in their bodywork. if i make a poor decision, same applies.

the number of times i've had a driver overtake me when there's barely any room and i've had to swerve a little in a panic is disgraceful.

There's not really a difference in the scenario I was mentioning which is when someone is being overtaken and they suddenly speed up deliberately to prevent the other person from getting past regardless of what vehicles are involved.

As i said I'm not defending the cyclists decision,he clearly shouldn't have tried to pass and then starts assaulting the driver.
