He was screaming and kicking the guy's car. What was that supposed to achieve?

He remained in control of his bicycle throughout and was able to cleanly dismount and put it on the ground. He was going slower than the car and has a smaller turning circle, so he probably could have avoided contact entirely if he didn't get angry or affronted at the idiot in the car. I'm not saying he did anything wrong, just that he made a meal of being wronged.

i think youre seeing this from a unrealistically detached viewpoint. i dont know if you cycle but i only do about 20 minutes a day and im not exactly a high-risk cyclist and id say on average i get cut up or subject to a shitty driver about once a week. so i can understand him getting pretty pissed off in the moment.

Yeah same here, people like to try and get by then cut in just before traffic islands because waiting 30 seconds just isn't good enough!

I don't know if you drive, but I get cut up, am subject to a shitty driver or stupid pedestrian multiple times per journey. I've had cars swerve in front of me so wrecklessly that it forced me out of my lane, people just walk out without even looking, parents waddle across a main road with their prams, and the local teens have taken up a craze of "stepping out" where they see a car coming and slowly cross the road in front of it to make it do an emergency stop. All this is strawberry floating infuriating, but the priority is always to avoid contact above all else.

If you let your emotions take the wheel, no matter how idiotic someone else is being, people's lives are at risk, so you put a lid on it. If this was two cars instead of a car + cyclist, I suspect we'd have seen a more determined effort to avoid a collision, and certainly the outburst wouldn't have started until after the incident.

It being Twitter, of course you have strawberry floating idiots criticizing the actions of a woman who has just been sexually harassed. Check out the comments by @jmsimonson1 in particular. banana split.

Yeah the guys were sexist and in the wrong, but that doesn't really justify criminal vandalism.

Then don't lean out of the window and touch someone you don't know.

Report it to the police rather than taking the law into your own hands then.

On this occasion, I'll allow it. They even angled the van to get closer/wedge her in. Creepy as strawberry float. Imagine how much this goes on unrecorded.

Nah they deserved that. Maybe not legally but morally I'd argue otherwise.

Nope, they deserved everything they got there. They shouldn't have been acting pervy and actually touching the lady is an absolute no no.

I'm not condoning vandalism, but if she hadn't done that, they'd have got away with their behaviour with no consequences, so strawberry float 'em.

I just hope that the video isn't used to track her down and prosecute.

The way they positioned the van to obstruct and then attempt to touch her was repulsive. Report them my left bollock, I know enough people that have experienced similar to know nothing would have come from it. Good for her. Should have thrown it at them, too.

He had the least threatening voice ever

I have no issue with the woman vandalising the van, but by the same token if a copper had seen her do it I'd have had no issue with her being arrested or cautioned.

I saw this on Facebook earlier. There was some guy getting chewed out in the comments because he came in saying the guys in the van did nothing wrong, that asking for someone's number and flirting "with good intentions" are legal, while vandalism is not, and that the woman should have tried to ward them off with wit and class if she wasn't really just a violent person.
