Think this might have been missed as it was bottom of page 10. About as bad as the Ryanair incident.

It is, but to racist pricks, so who gives a strawberry float.

Chris Wells, who was leader of Thanet council until Ukip lost control this year, said there was no doubt that there had been a spike in concern about hate crime but insisted that societal changes had to be taken into account.
He added: “If you go back 10 years, Kent was a classic shire county, 98% white and village-based and it is changing like the rest of the country is. You will find, for example, that there is resentment about incoming labour and competition for scarce jobs.
“The situation is much more complex than people want to say. There has been a failure of politics in general to provide people with what they need, whether it’s jobs or social housing.”

I thought there might be some fallout or ongoing coverage - but the world seems to have quickly moved on with no repercussions/consequences.

I know Gammon might not have the historical conations but no word is born with that is it.... Better just to kill the word and call a racist asshole a racist asshole.

Genuine question.

Yes.
You might get away with it if it’s with a black friend that doesn’t mind you doing it, but it’s still a very very racist word - even if you end it in “ah”.

Yeah my friends and I should probably stop greeting one another with that term then.
