Back once again. Not a great overall E3 this year. So much disappointment.

EA - First half was shite. Load of games I couldn't care less about and so much sport. Then the awful Youtube "personalities". :dread: It improved in the second half. The Battlefront single-player should be amazing but I don't care about the multiplayer at all. A Way Out is something different so I'm looking forward to that. 6/10

Microsoft - Similar to EA, shite first half, decent second. Can't wait for Ori but it's probably way off. Crackdown 3 should be a lot of fun and the BC announcement was a nice little surprise. Anthem looks incredible, if a little derivative of about 5 other games. Don't care about Forza at all and the Xbox One X looks to be as pointless a purchase as the PS4 Pro. 7/10

Bethesda - I've never seen a self-wankathon quite like the first half of this show. Why did it even need to be a live show? All they did was run a video on stage for 50 minutes. Doom VFR, Evil Within 2 & Wolfenstein saved this from being a disaster. Great that all three are our this year, too. 5/10

Devolver Digital - Ummm, yeah. This didn't need to be a thing. 2/10

PC Gaming Show - A big improvement year on year. No embarrassing stupid moments like they usually have and a lot of decent stuff shown. 7/10

Ubisoft - An amazing show. Entertaining from start to finish. Game after game that looked interesting plus Assassin's Creed. Even the Just Dance segment was fun due to Ubisoft weirdness. The big reveal at the end was great and to see them bring up the entire dev team on stage was a wonderful touch. 9/10

Sony - 2018 was the big theme, here. Very disappointing show, no great surprises. A lot of potentially great games shown for sure but the majority of them were also shown at last year's show & either didn't have a date at all or are coming next year. Some 2017 stuff was shown at the pre-show but that's not what I'm rating. 7/10

Nintendo - Not good. So much crap I'm not interested in. Really sick of Kirby & Yoshi games. Another Musou Warriors game zzzz. Rocket League is a great fit for Switch but I've played it to death. The announcement of Prime 4 was exciting but it's years away. This mythical 3D Pokemon adventure is also lightyears out. They probably just started development on them days ago. Mario Odyssey looked great, though. Saved the presentation from being a complete shit-show. Not a fan of the music, though. 4/10

WINNER? Ubisoft, obviously.

Xbox - N/A - Didn't get a chance to watch

Sony - 6/10 - Solid showing but lack of surprises hurt it overall. Just a bunch of trailers, did it really even need a conference in person this year?

Nintendo - 5/10 - Nice to see Prime announced but it's an absolute joke to show just a board and nothing else. Kirby and Yoshi continue to bore, not a great showing, imo.

Ubisoft - 8/10 great conference, expecting downgrades to follow but they bought their A game atleast.

Devolver - 7/10 Funny. Entertained. I'm good with this.

Final say: Worst E3 in years.

EA 4/10 - A few good games shown like Battlefront 2 and Anthem, but wow was it presented so badly. Multiple douchebags used to introduce single games.

Microsoft 4/10 - Opposite to the above, brilliant presentation and stuck to showing games, but their first party AAAs (Crackdown, Thieves, Decay) looked like bad 360 titles in 4K. Fake cheers for ridiculous XBO X price

Bethesda - ?/10 - Didn't see this

Ubisoft 6/10 - Many here enjoyed this, but personally the games weren't for me and the presenters were annoying. Redeemed by Beyond Good & Evil trailer

Sony 7/10 - Well presented and the games looked stunning, no new announcements to excite though, big drop from last year. Disappointing lack of TLOU 2 and Death Stranding.

Nintendo 7/10 - Short and sweet, very few games, but Mario Odyssey looks like game of the show

Definitely. The one good thing about this year is that it means next year's is gonna be great with all the big no-shows from this year.

Everyone said they we're fed up of games being unveiled too early. The industry responded, maybe they shouldn't have.

EA - 6
Better than recent years and they had the best game and gameplay reveal of the show in A Way Out but everything else they showed was a bit wet. Sports are sports, pretty good showing but even the ones I'll buy had too much time spent on them. The lack of cool Star Wars stuff was shocking, what on earth are EAs dev teams doing, I don't understand game development so maybe this is harsh but to show less than even last year was weird. Battlefront really dragged too.

Microsoft - 7
Pretty solid all around conference even though the games weren't massively interesting to me. I don't get the sell on X so I probably won't get one. The stupid exclusive announcements kind of pissed me off so it loses marks for that. Also the lack of new IPs from MS continues to alarm.

Bethesda - 5
This just wasn't a conference really. I wish they'd strawberry float off with constantly selling Skyrim too. I'm interested in The Evil Within and Wolfenatein but they showed them poorly.

Devolver - 6
The humour was good I thought and there's plenty of room for conference pisstakes but it wasn't snappy enough and ironically it became a bit boring. Also I made the mistake of thinking they would actually show games.

Ubisoft - 9
Just fantastic really. Every year they bring it, I have so much respect for what Ubisoft bring to the industry even though I don't end up playing most of their games. The game after game after game is a mantra several publishers have taken on but Ubi nailed with showing so many different types of games and actually bringing engaging people out to talk about them passionately and explain why I should be excited. Other publishers efforts just turned into a show real. Also the BGE ending was superb, it's a shame it's so far out but that is one of the best trailers I've ever seen in terms of getting me excited about a game.

Sony - 8
I can't argue with the games on show, they mostly looked really good, but at the same time having them so far out was very very disappointing and I feel a bit cheated after they were shown last year too. Despite them aping last years conference in style, which for me is the best E3 conference ever, this fell a bit flat oddly, can't really explain why, maybe the lack of new reveals. Also after Ubi, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want a bit more talking!

Nintendo - 6
I never expect much from Nintendo and they always under deliver. Really sick of the same old 2D playformers from Kirby and Yoshi so those games do absolutely nothing for me. Xenoblade is meh, the Metroid and Zelda (Amiibo) announcements actively aggravates me by how shitty they were. Nothing from Retro ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Also I'm not sure how much I like this Mario direction.

Ubisoft wins comfortably.

Worst E3 in a long time, conferences being so spread out is really crappy for watching it and kills the enthusiasm train that has existed in previous years. Also the abscence of Monday Mayhem is bullshit.

Lack of new game announcements and stuff that we already new about being so far off is really annoying as a consumer who wants to play a lot of this stuff. BGE is excused.

It's a fine line.

Take Resident Evil 2, that had no right to be announced when it did. Who knows when that is going to drop...

EA

Image

This gif sums up what I felt ^

Microsoft

Image

Going all in acting like a hardman by blowing their trumpet. The only thing they ending up blowing was a bad smell.

Sony

Image

Where all the games at yo?. Oh you put them in the pre show. K then. Really disappointing. Ok yes there where a few games I liked but yeah. Put them in your conference next time please

Ubisoft

Image

Legit enjoyed this. There games, there where devs on stage, there was a singer with a fat juicy rump & swearing animals. It was fun & made me feel warm.

Terrible E3 in my opinion. It feels like E3 is dead as a lot of the big announcements seem to be made throughout the year now rather than the rush of news at E3. Very, very little of interest to me. I'll probably pick up Crackdown 3 and Shadow of the Colossus remake but I'm not exactly shitting myself in excitement.

EA - 5 - I didn't see it live but, skimming through it later, it felt like I hadn't missed much.
Microsoft - 6 - I hugely enjoyed the new console reveal but I had wanted to see more games on it.
Bethesda - 6 - Short and snappy; the Bethesda Land theme was neat.
Ubisoft - 8 - A great mixture of games that were well presented. Excellent fun!
Sony - 6 - Some cool games but a few of them felt a little similar; the event needed more oomph. I didn't realise that so much was going to be shown pre-presentation.
Nintendo - 8 - Whilst not having the funny, innovative appeal of previous Direct presentations, some cool games were on show and the subsequent Treehouse slots deliver excellent insight into the games.

I'm surprised that Activision and Square-Enix don't hold presentations. Maybe they feel the costs involved are too high; or that they just don't need to show off their games?

Activison have Call of Duty & Destiny and not much else. It wouldn't be much of a show unless they seriously invest in new IP.

I just realised that Square didn't have a conference even though it has for the past few years.

They're trying to get rid of IO and Hitman so maybe they're pulling a Konami.

Wasn't every game shown at the conference running on it.
