Having finally caught up with all the conferences and stuff I'd have to say.
Sony:
B+ - Some excellent reveals, but nothing that terribly excited me. If they hadn't had the LG, FF7 and Shenmue III bombs to drop it would have been fairly disappointing.
Microsoft:
B - Again some nice reveals, but still nothing that's sold the system to me.
EA:
F - Go to the back of the class and think about what you did.
Ubisoft:
B- - Much better than I expected. South Park probably the most welcome surprise I've had all E3, R6: Siege looking damn good and The Division still has my attention
for the moment.
Bethesda:
B+ - For their first show I thought it was excellent. Some good demos of games I'm interested in. I'm glad they really spent some time on Doom and Fallout while they peppered their other games around them.
Square Enix:
C- - Amateurish and just didn't flow well. Nothing interested me that we didn't already know about or get more detail about elsewhere. Must do better.
PC:
C+ - For a first attempt I thought it was alright. There's definitely room to improve though. While I liked the format and Day9 (Though I can tell he's a marmite guy) I felt it was too long, lacked gameplay and needed far more live demos. It's a good base to build from and hopefully they can tweak it for next year. Plus it was a nice change from the standard conferences.
Nintendo:
C+ - Ah Nintendo.... I liked the Muppet links. Starfox looked like, well.... Starfox (Not impressed with the graphics though). Little of interest really. Mario Maker was easily the highlight. I can only assume that a proper Metroid game is being readied for NX at this point. This feels very much like a stop gap year. Where was this years Splatoon?
So overall it's been a strange E3 so far. For me the best surprise has been South Park.
