MGS4 on PS3. It's taken me long enough to get around to finishing this but I think it was well worth the wait. A fantastic game from start to finish the bit when you first get to Shadow Moses and you get to replay the first screen of MGS1 was a paricular treat. So many good bits to this game most of which I wasn't expecting besides the batshit crazy story and a couple of frustrating sections I can't really fault this so it get's a 9/10.

Autocorrect, I type PS4 more commonly than PS3 so my phone autocorrected it... either that or just a typo, whoops :D

Rainbow Moon (Vita/PS3 cross play)
Finished this yesterday clocking up 145hrs game time since I bought it in July last year. I say finished because I've now beaten the final boss but in effect that Just means I can now go on and take on new side quests and go beyond the initial level cap of 80. Bearing in mind that there are 3 trophies for reaching level 100+ (100, 250, 500) I guess I've not finished !
Anyway I can confidently say this game is an enjoyable romp and looks gorgeous in its isometric top down view. Battles vary from easy to troublesome to downright tough sometimes but a very enjoyable experience. I paid about £10 I think and it went free under PS+ about 5 months later so everyone should have access to it either on Vita or PS3.

A solid 8/10 from me

So less than 48 hrs later and I'm now at level 149 already! Not quite found everything I need to break next level cap of 150 but the post game battles are great. Upping this to 9/10 now

I tried starting it last night and fell asleep during the intro.

And somehow managed to buy Suikoden 1 and 2 and start on the first one.

Bought mass effect trilogy on PC cheap, despite selling my ps3 copies a few months ago.

Mass effect 8/10 - first time playing since I played on release, the world building and speed at which you accept the universe, it's history and it's ways is brilliantly done, great sci fi. The story is good, some characters a bit one note at times but it works. It's a great story that feels good as a trilogy opener or as a standalone.

The combat however is shonky, the mako still infuriating and the copy paste planet missions are a bit tedious but overall it works. I like the RPG stuff though the inventory is a cluttered mess.

Mass effect 2 -10/10 this is for me the perfect game design on story driven RPG. It's link to the first game is well handled, it introduces a good range of new characters most of which are interesting. I wasn't a fan of the streamlined mechanics first time I played, but appreciate the decision now as it gives a purer experience without breaking flow every 10 minutes to rearrange inventory or sell clutter. However the best aspect of this is the final mission, everything leads to it and the decisions affect it. It's a superb example of forward planning by developers.

Just starting mass effect 3. First thoughts are that I'm annoyed they removed the characters and left you limited choice for missions, nearly all soldiers, very little option to have biotic or tech side kicks. The combat here though is excellent, a real refinement of what worked from 2.

I'm dreading the gash ending but everything leading up to that final hour was great from memory.

Mass Effect 2 was one of my favourite games on the Xbox. Excellent cast of characters with interesting story missions. The final mission was awesome. Shadow Broker DLC was fantastic as well.

Bayonetta 2. Fantastic art direction and fast paced deep fighting mechanic with a huge variety of weapons and approaches to combat combined in different ways. Story makes sense if you played the original with a little lore to boot, although mostly fluff. Never frustrating, extremely challenging but tonnes of replay value when you finally finish with score attacks and unlocking more perks and weapons. Also completed the original game along much the same lines, but the sequel has more polish and slightly better balance, difficulty curve and more accessible difficulty (with at least 3 harder settings). The original dragged a little bit but I may have just been knackered as kept me playing all night. Probably the most technically impressive title on Wii U. The dream of 1080p60 is real.

Magnificent 10/10

I remember completing large parts of an episode of The Wolf Among Us on PS3 yet I'd fallen asleep. The game just continued through until it physically needed me to move character!
Rebought it on Vita and completed it properly this time. There were parts I experienced for the 1st time this time round too!

Yep and yep. Epic game. I loved all the dlc too. I've played it 3 times, most I've replayed a game. Fantastic.

Wii Party 6/10 More polished than Mario Party 8, but also a little more soulless.

In the sense that it's a dream, yes. Bayonetta 2 is most often hanging around 40-45fps, and it's 720p.

Ah well I didn't notice. I watched promotional videos at 1080p60 on YouTube so I guess I assumed they were going for that.

Still beats loads of other games for performance, even on more powerful hardware ;)

My TV isn't massive either and I spent a fair amount of the game on the gamepad.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on PS3. A pretty fun action game but without Raiden and a cameo from Sunny you would barely even know it was a Metal Gear game. Not sure I like where they took Raiden's character either. He went from being a bit of a pussy in MGS2, to being a rather valiant hero in MGS4 so I don't think making him a banana split was a good move. Overall this was short but sweet 7/10.

Mega Man (Game Boy) 5/10 Didn't really feel this one. Slow, and insanely hard, but not for the right reasons. Enemy placement is irritating.

Castlevania The Adventure 1/10 Quite possible the worst game I've ever played.

Entwined

It's like the special stage from Sonic 2 and Rez had a baby, but not as good as that sounds. Fairly relaxing way to spend a couple of hours or so though.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Not sure what to make of this since it's not really a game and more of a demo/prelude of what the main game will be. Had I paid money for this I'd have been quite disappointed since the main story only took me just over an hour to complete but since I got it on PS+ that's not an issue. I'll give it 7/10 a score which might increase if I play some of the other missions which will likely have to wait a while as I'm a little burned out on Metal Gear games right now.

Ratchet & Clank 3

Great game let down by last boss who has more moves than the karate kid & more henchmen than Dr Evil. Alls I wanted was a one on one boss fight. But nope, let's make it EXxXXxXXxxXxXxXtReEEeEeEeEeEeEeEeMe
Too extreme for me I guess.

3/5
