We've just had some great beers come into the pub for the winter ale season; some gorgeous blondes.

This is my favorite time of year for beers, winter beers tend to be so much more interesting.

Am going to a winter festival in Dover in February, really looking forward to it! All beers are 5% and up and it is open 1pm to 11pm, it may go a bit wrong!

Can barely drink anymore but love a bottle of Loch Lomond, nice citrus-y blonde beer.

First seasonal beer: Woodforde's Tinsel Toes. Nothing special. Generic pale ale.

Tried a bottle of Kentucky Bourbon Ale today. Nothing special and I wouldn't get it again.
5/10.

Tried Doom Bar last week and wasn't overly impressed with it but I'm not sure if I got a bad bottle as it seemed a bit flat. Is that the norm for it?

I've never thought of it as "fizzy" - it's much flatter than, say, a Golden Glory.

Doom Bar is just a really good session ale. It hasn't got a spectacularly unique flavour, but it's a really well executed and tasty beer. It's quite expensive though :|

I've been there.

Bit late on a Saturday night when we arrived and the beer selection was limited but good - we never found out why. Cool place though - lots of Hackney types about D:

Beervent Calendar Day 2

Brooklyn Brown Ale 5.6%

3.5 / 5 - Alright flavor but a bit dull for a 5.6% beer.

Actually pretty cheap round by me and I'd agree that's a good session ale. Easy to drink quite a lot however.

You ever tried Leffe 9? It's some potent gooseberry fool. Real good though.
