Recommend me a netbook :fp:

Sorry, I bet this has been asked about 300 times this year, but my dad wants to get my mum a netbook for Chrimbo..

Budget is around £200, but not that strict. At the moment he has seen a Samsung NC130 (whatever that is) for £150. Any good?

The Samsung NC10 is pretty highly regarded. though what that means for the model your dad has seen, I don't know. Otherwise, you're probably after an Asus eee, preferably one of the ones with Windows on.

Casting a quick eye over the specs for the 130 suggests it should perform very well.

I got two Asus EEEs (701 & 901). Both good for net but nothing too heavy.

The NC130 is a slight redesign of the NC10, which I have and am very happy with.

£150 is crazy cheap! I've seen them for £230 but that's an absolute bargain. I paid £299 for mine back in February and still believe it was great value. Do you have a link?

At that price you might want to consider upgrading to 2gb of RAM as well, as it's only £20 and will help with Windows 7 if you want to go that route.
