Have you tried it today? The Alan Wake code that came with Quantum Break wouldn't work before the release date but was fine after.

Red is your warning to start easing up - I find you've got a second or so's grace, and if you've almost reeled it in you can briefly let go and pull sharply again and you'll yank it out. And the line snaps if you're hit by anything while pulling. It doesn't really make that clear, but after struggling to get it to work consistently I'm extracting every time I want to (it doesn't make sense to do it if you're surrounded at the time, obv, and sometimes it pays to just blast them into pieces instead).

I do ease up and the cable goes white for a second or two, but then snaps anyway. This was during the first boss so nothing else attacking me. Think it could do with some tweaking really.

The load times though :dread:
Hopefully they can be fixed with a patch, and soon.

Never got my Banjo Kazooie code though, need to chase Amazon about that.

Tried at home this morning and through the app on the bus this morning still fails. I'll give it a try now and see.

Starting to get the hang of extracting cores now.

I think my only real issue with the game so far (besides load times) is that navigation can be a bit fiddly. The addition of a minimap or even compass would have been great rather than having to pause and refer to the main map all the time just to check what direction you're facing.

About 2 hours into this, and really enjoying it, despite the awful load times. Core extraction was a little confusing at first, but that's all sorted now :)

It's easy to see the Metroid influence in this so far, though I certainly get some Zelda vibes too.

Done a traversal and arena optional dungeon so far...they can be rather infuriating sometimes, but at least the unique rewards make them worthwhile, plus the arena ones are good for a bit of levelling and material gathering.

Had a quick 20 minute go this morning before getting ready for work. Looks like something I'll enjoy apart from opening a door and the cave that's supposed to be on the other side not being there and falling through the ground to my death :fp:

Whilst I'm enjoying this on the whole, another major frustration is quickly becoming apparent, that you can't take your whole load out with you at once and you have to keep returning to the crawler to swap out frames and party members. It means you can beat a tricky platforming section but at the end find you didn't bring the right frame to get the reward, so you have to return to the crawler, bring the right frame, then do the platforming all over again. It would've been much better to be able to swap out frames on the fly from the menu really.
Combine this with the loading times and I think it could limit how much side content I really do.

Doesnt it tell you before! you head into dungeons and such what frames you need?
Loading times are an absolute joke... But still loving the game so far, completed the core foundry, boss fight was great fun

For the dungeons yes, but the issue is more in the larger overworld. And the Dungeons tell you what you need to actually beat the dungeon, but that doesn't mean you can get all the hidden stuff without needing other frames too.

Apparently the PC loading times are drastically shorter, so it seems to be an Xbox One specific problem, hopefully something that can be fixed with a patch.

Losing my patience with this now, in the middle of nowhere making my way to a dungeon because I don't have enough prismatic cores to start the new story bit. And I need 7 ffs :dread:

Now back to the middle of nowhere bit, I keep getting swamped by enemies that just absolutely destroy me. Really pissing me off now :|

Whenever something like this happens it makes me rethink just how much a hand Nintendo had in some of their previous partnered projects. People accuse Nintendo of butting in too much but then you see what happens to some of these teams later down the line.

spent more hours on this over the weekend. still highly addictive and loving the exploration. obviously that means i'm not progressing the story, but just got the spider robot.

I'm taking a little break at the moment. Need more Prismatic Cores (You need 45 to complete the story) but I'm hoping for a patch to fix the load times on Xbox One before I resume exploring to try and gather them.

I'm also utterly terrible at the Traversal dungeons, so I can usually only get half the cores they offer....

Same, went back to the start and got on with hunting out more prismatic cores. Got 16 so can progress the story further (unlocked Duncan the gorilla looking bot) but I think I'll continue hunting out the prismatic cores so I don't need to worry later down the line. Another hater of the stupidly long loading times, especially when you die and fast travel.

Just unlocked the flying bot frame and nabbed 31 prismatic cores so far and about 7 hours in to the game now. After jibbing the story off due to lack of cores and hunting them out it's become enjoyable again. I'll try and reach 35 cores before carrying on and need to explore more to find more as not many are showing on the map. Shame about the dodgy load times and fps that must drop 20 or below in dungeons.

UPDATE FOR RECORE | LOAD TIMES

Greetings Far Eden Adventurers,

Thank you very much for all the comments, likes, shares, and general feedback about your experience playing ReCore during the past week. We’ve enjoyed seeing your first impressions of ReCore and welcoming many more of you into the community. The more, the merrier!

With that said, we want you to know that we’ve been listening closely, and the number one thing you’ve mentioned you’d like to see improvements on is load times. We heard you, we appreciate your patience, and we have good news!

An update will be released this week for Xbox One and Xbox One S that will improve load times on those platforms. Keep in mind, some areas may continue to take more time than expected to load because they are larger zones, but we hope this update improves your overall experience traveling through Far Eden.
