Ye. I spent about 20 hours in RDR hunting. Based hunting

I've a 3TB HD in my PS4 so no issues with space for me :datass:

I am ok with that, as long as I don't actually have to go outside.

One thing i read that surprised the hell out of me this morning was that this is Rockstars first game for this generation (PS4 and XBox). GTA V was a cross-gen title.

Forced to pre-order RDR2 even though I have zero hype for it, which I think is down to protag looking like a smarmier version of Dennis Quaid. I mean I'm so un-arsed about the game that I most likely won't even bother playing it on launch.

I'm surprised they're even bothering with RDR2 considering the fact Rockstar/Take-Two are rolling in it thanks to GTA:O microtransactions and GTA V forever being in the top 10.

Surely I can't be the only one who's pre-ordered? I mean, what do the rest of you, who buy physical, do? Order on the day? Go to a bricks and mortar like a strawberry floating caveman? Also, pre-ordering isn't the same the world over; it only became a huge issue because in the US you have to put a deposit down when you pre-order. That's never been the case in the UK and so shouldn't be frowned upon. Quit being such sheep! (Or I'll shear you and make a sweet gun cosy out of your wool.)

Edit: 'Forced' because someone else wants to play it and twisted my arm to pre-order it.

For me it's more about the marketing trend behind it and, make no mistake, pre-ordering is a marketing strategy. Full stop. It's a way for publishers to go back to their shareholders before a game is released and say "Look how good we've been! Look how much money we've made for you!" regardless of the quality of the game itself. This pushes the publishers' priority away from making good games and towards marketing.

It also leads to more pre-order incentives such as the RDR tat-package discussed previously, and encourages pubs to excise game content for pre-order exclusives.

It's certainly not a mortal sin or anything, and of course people are free to do as they please, but it's a practice that benefits only the publishers.

etc etc what do I know?

If any game is worth 50 quid these days, it’s probably this one. If GTA V is also any indication, this thing is going to retain its value for a long time...though maybe that has more to do with its online mode.

If I did this the game may as well advertise it has infinite content as there's now way I'm going to reach my destination on 99% of missions :fp: .

If I have to try and rescue someone they may as well just kill themselves as I'm going to be searching everywhere else first and then maybe when they've got Stockholm syndrome I may turn up but I wouldn't count on it even then.
