That hunting video does look fantastic. One of my fave activities from the first game was hunting and the I clusion of the bow this time around makes me very excited. Also fun to see that "clean" kills give you higher quality pelts, giving you an incentive to be a good hunter and not fill everything you see full of lead.

^ and here's some more info about the companion app. Looks like it'll give you a real time map, and access to the journal (which appears to be background info/bestiary etc).

This has helped me cement my decision to play with the minimap turned off. All too often in games like these I just play with my eyes glued to said map, meaning I miss the gorgeous world the devs have created. I did this in The Witcher 3 and Gta5.

Apparently if you turn the minimap off, NPCs give you more detailed directions via dialogue.

That crouch-walking looks particularly off-putting in this, I think it's the character model making it look even less realistic than normal.

Is that because the character model is more realistic but the animations haven't changed too much since last time?

When I eventually get this ~~at launch~~ I'll be doing my best to maintain the authentic wilderness experience, so I'll be turning off as many waypoint/hud features as possible, including the minimap.
