I wasn't taken with the first couple of minutes but, by the end, I gotta say that it does look neat. I'm sure that - as when I play GTA - I'd much rather wander the excellent gameworld and discover stuff instead of completing the missions, though.

105Gb just seems needlessly excessive. I get that a lot of people have additional HDDs hooked up to their consoles these days but it'll still take up a tenth of what most people deemed enough to attach.

Particularly in the UK where consoles with 500 Gb (actual capacity circa 450 Gb) drives remain popular. With updates I can see this one game taking up over a quarter of the space.

Although getting this at launch, I'm not at all hyped, I've ZERO hype for this game. I'm not in doubt that it'll be spectacular in looks and be an outstanding game in it's own right but the world and story seems so vast, that I know day 1 i'll barely scratch the surface and as is the norm in these games, ill play it slowly over the course of the next year. If it's as good as The Witcher 3 I'd be very surprised.

Not saying it's not an issue but most people thought the size of the hard drives at both the original launch and the mid generation updates of the PS4 and Xbox One X were ridiculous. 4K gaming was always going to bring big file sizes.

Definitely, man. They should have launched with 1 Tb drives and the mid gen upgrade versions shoulda had 2 Tb. At least Sony eventually allowed external drives to be used :-).

I'm not convinced that assets are the only reason the file size has increased. I guess load times would be insufferable if the game had to decompress everything during the loading process as well. I have no real idea of how they write games for consoles, I'm just guessing this would be an issue.

I can play GameCube games at 4K though the Dolphin emulator. The file size of the ISO doesn't increase at all to achieve that. I get that some assets are lower res but overall it still looks pretty impressive.

Jesus christ, the way everyone is up in arms because of the install size. I alreadt pointed out the other day that there's plenty of games the same size or more that have already been released. Halo 5, Gears 4 and Quantum Break (which WITH the episodes pack downloaded would push it well above 170gb) are just 3 of the 35 games I have installed on my X and they are the biggest install size.

Yeah the install size doesn’t bother me at all, the X generally has larger installs anyway for Enhanced titles. Sea of Thieves is double the standard Xbox size.

Must admit that trailer did look dam impressive, but for a game that's a few weeks away I'm still not feeling it.

I think this sounds like a really interesting feature. Hopefully it's good enough to not make playing without the map feel like a hindrance.

I've pre-ordered this on PS4 digitally. Same day as Castlevania SOTN is re released. What a weekend that's going to be.

I'm not massively hyped but I'm sure that'll come once I've watched a few reviews.

Wish my image sig would work

Yeah, I reckon if it aces it across the board I'll get a bit hyped.

It's a big budget Rockstar release, high review scores are a foregone conclusion.

I really like the addition of directions through dialogue when you turn off the HUD, if that is true. Other games need to learn to stop relying on mini-maps as a crutch for navigation, or at least tell me in the options menu that they didn't bother implementing natural directions within the game world when I'm about to turn it off.
