I barely played the original Redemption and I'll be holding off from this until I've checked a lot of reviews and there is a price cut further down the line. I love how Rockstar build huge and detailed environments to explore but, for my tastes, their gameplay missions always leave me cold. I'm looking forward to hearing what folk think of it, though :-) .

You can pretend that it is the interaction with NPCs that is interesting you, but we all know that what you are really interested in is the shrinking horse balls.
I started replaying RDR1 last week and despite loving the game at the time of its release, it's not living up to my memory of it. I don't want to say it's dated, it's still a fine game in a lot of ways, it's more that returning to it after developing a harsh view of Rockstar's writing isn't doing it any favours. Marston is definitely one of their better protagonists, but I'm currently a few missions into the Mexico act and so far, he and Bonnie have been the only characters who are even slightly interesting. Everyone else has either been bland or a lazy caricature whose depth goes as far as "isn't the concept of this character interesting/funny" rather than them actually being either of those things. The mission scenarios have been mostly boring too, GTA V could be very hit or miss but from what I remember, at least they tried to implement unique situations or gameplay mechanics in the majority of missions.
There's still a decent chance I'll pick up RDR2 on release, the potential of their games is huge if they could just match their writing quality with the attention to detail they put into every other part of their worlds, and I want to believe they can do it. Even some of the questionable or clunky gameplay decisions they make would be a lot more tolerable if they succeeded.
105 GB! I feel sorry for those with 500gb consoles, dam these files size are getting crazy, must be those horse testicles.
Seriously though for being the biggest game of the year, I'm honestly not that bothered about it. Yeah I will get it but nothing I've heard about or seen of the game has really got me excited.

Any feature that dares to make such a determined statement against the inherent male bias and the precarious vulnerability at the heart of toxic masculinity is certainly reason to be excited.

Are people that surprised by the install size? Really? Gears 4 is about 115GB, Halo 5 is over 100 I think and so is Quantum Break (and that's without the 70+GB cutscenes downloaded!!)
I read news like this and am glad I bought that 1TB external drive for the PS4. I don't like uninstalling my games because I never know when I might get the itch to play them. (Got about 450GB left). I really must get one for my X1S though.

I suspect you wouldn’t like this. I’m the same with Rockstar games and many other huge sandbox games, I’m afraid of plotting this out and finding it a chore to play. Hence my decision to wait off until it’s cheaper.
It will get a lot of praise from reviews and gamers here that’s for sure: The same goes for GTAV and I found that game to be goddamn boring.
Still playing on a OG PS4 here. Game size won't be an issue for me as I very rarely leave larger games on my HDD after completing them, meaning I have oodles of room.
hmm, I was thinking of pre-ordering this (got a £40 amazon voucher atm so thought why not) but it may almost be too big. Think I'll wait until reviews are out
Got this pre-ordered digitally with a 10mb place holder file downloaded. Rockstar games are the only ones I don't hang about for to be cheaper because they take a long time to be found cheaper, more than any other game.
Excited to have what should be the definitive version of it until it comes to PC.
