It’s 2018, and the controls feel just as clunky as they did in GTA4, RDR, GTA5...I swear they progress everything else-the graphics, the engine etc and just don’t bother with the controls.

I bought GTA5 on the PS4 with the intention of playing through the entire game in first person. Then I found out it has some of the worst aiming in a video game I've ever played. Promptly traded it in.

Sometimes I feel like Rockstar would be happier making films than they would games.

I'd have to agree, it's pretty clunky, which is a shame. There are fantastic elements to this games, but for something to be awarded a 10 it really should be getting the basics right.

In other news; I lost my legendary bear skin, which I left in the camp, the game even told me it was in a safe place??? :x

What you will want to do is head to the Trapper in Saint Denis. If you haven’t met the Trapper yet, keep progressing the main story until you do.

The Trapper will have your Red Dead Redemption 2 lost legendary bear pelt in his possession already. Unfortunately, this does mean you won’t be able to sell it but it only goes for around $60 anyway. Thankfully, you will be able to use it for its precious crafting purposes, though.

They really strawberry floated up with how jumpy the NPCs are. Me accidentally jumping on someone else’s horse is not sufficient justification for starting world war 3

So one of the characters is asking for a pen.

I got a pen from Jimmy Brooks or whoever it is you have to silence in Valentine after the Uncle mission. That isn't my only chance of getting a good one, right? I've already sold it.

No, you can't give them that pen for some reason.

Cleared my bounty and also started chapter 3. Not got the hang of the none auto paint dead eye, but will work on it.

Going to try to get some new guns before going after legendary animals.

Wish my image sig would work

It really is. It's not a 10/10 game as there are a few bits that are clunky, or not very well explained or poorly implemented. But it's either a high 8 or low 9 for me. Not sure if I prefer it to the first game, but it's definitely fantastic and an amazing technical achievement. It looks absolutely gorgeous on the X as well, so that's a bonus. :D

I'm trying to grow it out as far as possible. It doesn't seem to have grown for a while but when I go to the shaving menu, it says the length is only 5/10.

I'm trying to stick to a strict Tom Selleck moustache regime.

Makes me laugh when this happens in video games

I remember in Yakuza 3 some kid wanted a bear, so I got one from a claw machine, but oh no you can't just give him that bear...

It's even more hilarious in this game because they do so much gooseberry fool in the name of 'immersion' that just makes the game clunkier to play, yet they gloss over simple things like that.

Anyone found any of the checklist stuff other than cigarette cards?

This is probably the best world Rockstar have created to just exist in but there mission design is still poor. I’d say at least 30% of my session this evening was just me holding A watching the cinematic camera. Even when you do arrive at your destination, the meat of what your doing is still pretty bloody basic (controller wrestling aside).

Yeah at the moment the mission design is standard. Jim Sterling took quite a strong reaction to the realism/controls, but said that at least the core story and missions were brilliant.

So far they are enjoyable, granted, but not brilliant. Nothing has happened so far that has surprised me. The good thing about GTA V was that I felt the missions were a step up from before and were often quite unique or quirky.

Still early on mind, so these could just be tutorials masked as missions.

Does anyone actually enjoy hunting. For big animals it can be ok, but anything smaller than a goat it’s just awful. It’s a real pain that they tied so many side activities to a hunting requirement because most of the time it’s just not fun. It’s imposs to see smaller animals from any sort of distance and when you get within visible distance they go strawberry floating mad and become impossible to follow.

This might be the prime example of choosing realism over playability in the game, to be honest I can’t think of many others. But it is was without doubt the wrong decision from a game design perspective because it’s strawberry floating gimped as is.
