Got the treasure map off one of the stranger encounters yesterday, was quite tempted to blast him and get my $10 back but I'm desperately trying to improve Arthur's honour after a couple of hours of pretty shocking murdering :slol:

Chapter 6 finished.

Micah is a banana split. I knew there was something off about him the first time I met him. A wanker of sorts. The demise of Arthur... the feels!

I gave money to a blind beggar only for him to get up take his blindfold off and walk off expertly navigating around passers by. Needless to say I got my money back..

as much as I am enjoying this game and finding many neat little secrets, I still don't enjoy this as much as the first game.

Yeah. Me too. I mean it’s an impressive technological feat, but I’m bored quite a lot. Don’t ever remember being bored in RDR1

I would also like to know this without googling.

Robbed the doctors office in Valentine and got dat sweet Schofield Revolver :datass:

Killed everyone in there and a handful of lawmen on the way out and managed to escape into the hills like a true bandit. Also robbed the gunsmith in Rhodes and rescued the prisoner in his basement. Spared the gunsmith though, pitied him really. this old outlaw still has a sliver of humanity left, it seems.

Came across a couple of unsolved mysteries - there's a house just outside of Rhodes where all the people living there seem to have been murdered, but it's not part of the serial killer storyline. And there's a dilapidated cabin in the woods near the old civil war battlesite that has details of a black guy who's gone on the run, and I swear I've seen him near Rhodes too. Something about that town ain't right I tell ya.

Greet everyone you pass when walking/riding through a town. Every 3/4 people you get a small bump in honour. It might not be much but it's so little effort. I'm working through the bandit challenges. Lose honour for doing them, then get it back by greeting the people I've just robbed.

Seems that he's not in the game at all. I shall carry on my search though.

I just completed the game late last night, at 84.3% total completion. Looks like I have to do a new game for 100% as some animals can only be found in Gurma-whatever that is. :slol: Really annoyed at that as I thought that the animals that can only be found in the good old USA counts.

But now I have finished the game, and I have to say that this game is the favourite for my game of the year. And I have looked in the next few weeks' releases until the end of 2018 and it's pretty safe that it will be.

Chapter 6 endgame spoiler...
One bugbear is that Dutch kept saying we all need money to move to newer pastures. Well, Dutch... just ask me. I've been riding all over the Wild West with 6k at most.

What is the point in honour anyway, I’ve not found anything that it affects.

It really highlights the poor mission design when you spend hours being a good citizen then are forced to murder 100s of police as you escape a job. It’s like Uncharted 2 never happened. They really are barebones in terms of what they have you doing, sometimes it feels like Rockstar isn’t even interested in you playing the game and just wants to get your gooseberry fool out the way so it can revel in its dialogue some more.

There are a couple of missions that only come up if you are very honourable. Think it pops up from Chapter 4.

Plus stores sell stuff to you cheaper if you have a high honour.

Also... it kinda ties in in later chapters, which will make sense.

The clue is kinda in the game's title. Redemption.

Thing is when I’m playing this character who is struggling with his place in the world and wanting to start a fresh but then the game forces me to kill 100s of innocent people I kind of lose interest in the story and any Redemption at the end will feel rather hollow. There’s plenty of room for non-murderous rampage crime in the towns and it’s alright against rival gangs but murdering wave after wave of local police just feels lazy and spoils my enjoyment.

Lost interest in this now. It's very pretty, has some great and realistic gun fights. But the pace, the slow genre like movie pace is just not for me. It's great production but gameplay is secondary. Glad I played it though.

Wish my image sig would work

I picked this up yesterday and put in about an hour, so still really in the tutorial.

The health/stamina 'core' things seem like I'm going to hate them though. It's like a stamina bar for your stamina bar.
Do they become very problematic with managing them later on?

Nah.... the game does a bad job of explaining them. But it doesn’t become an issue. The outer ring is just to show you how much of something you have which is affected by activity such as running using deadeye. And the actual icons themselves are what you top up. The outer ring grows as you get more stamina and experience but the core remains as it is.

Nothing to worry about apart from when you or your horse are tired, low on health etc.

It just becomes a background thing in my experience.

Phew.
The way the game was explaining it made it seem like it was closer to hunger/thirst meters from a survival game.

I've been using the turn-of-the-century box camera you get from one of the main Stranger missions to turn Arthur into a 19th century crime scene photographer. Although, they're his crimes so it makes it a little serial killer-y if you think about it too hard. :shifty:

Spoiler images for that Stranger mission (including its eventual end):

Honestly, I'd love a detective game in this setting where you play a sheriff or US Marshall who has to solve the crimes of outlaws.

Is there an option to make clambering another round automatic rather than me having to manually pull the trigger twice per one shot fired?
