Today is my 10th wedding anniversary! Taken the missus out for a swanky lunch so we get some 'us' time away from the kids. Feels like yesterday since we got hitched. Best decision I've ever made

Here's a first...

I need a bit of a hand GRcade! (not that kind you dirty perverts :x )

Managed to secure a second date but I am completely stumped on where to go or what to do. I am normally pretty good at this, but today I am totally Alvin'd.

Key facts: Glasgow, Saturday & will be during the day.

Over to you.

I probably should have paid more attention on the first date or made more of an effort to find out :fp:

Brilliant

I didn't ever do dates, just go to the pub and chat/get pissed. You find out far quicker if you actually like someone that way rather than the false 'oh we went to the park and held hands and I even got a semi crap.

Just go to a pub.

I think the last time I went on a "date" that was on a Saturday day time we went to laser tag... Yes, this was a while ago.

Sorry that's probably not much help.

Still, think I got to 2nd base so perhaps it's not such a bad suggestion after all! :D

Go to the pub... :dread:

That's like one step above staying in and watching a movie. It's not a date, at least put in some effort!

Here are some things that always go down well: Laser or Archery Tag, Bowling, going to an arcade, basically any activity that is casual friendly. Just make sure to have a back up in case things start to tank.

Bowling's fine, pub is easiest and also fine. Other suggestions are too try hard/nerdy for a second date.

If you went to the pub first date do something a bit different, grab a burger then wander a bit, beers then back to yours.

Find a place that does some good grub, a few drinks and some music. If she's into dancing then there are plenty of places you can go to in the centre to carry on the night, that cater to plenty of different tastes. There's a place in the Merchant City called Avant Garde that usually has a Ceilidh every Saturday, if either of you would be into that. Slouch is good for late live music too (as is King Tut's) but it gets mega busy so may not be the best if you're looking to make some moves.

Be an arthouse wanker and go to the CCA or something, see what poncey exhibitions they have on display and then retreat to the bar.

We actually only met up for coffee, we were both kinda busy so instead of leaving it for another week (I had already been 'rain checked') so we just met up and spent a couple of hours chatting.

very civilised

Bank has it spot on - good food, decent drink selection and music that works for you both. My first date with current GF was a trip to the Biere Halle followed by Crystal Palace - what I'm trying to say is don't go too fancy if you don't know how she'll react; CCA and Avant Garde are cracking and I love going to them both but they're also quite niche for what they are. A pub visit is absolutely fine for a date, just as long as it's not a shitey old man pub. Just judge it by what you think she'll like.

Slouch on the other hand is an excellent place to go. Not too loud, a nice chilled atmosphere, good music, fairly cheap booze - good place to have a chat and get to know her. I'd also suggest having a look up Finnieston way as there are a few good bars there, or Ashton Lane. Even Mono or Flying Duck if she likes vegan food, and Yes Bar if she's a die hard nationalist.

Where are you meeting her? Town, West End, Merchant City or what? We can probably tailor some suggestions to your area and also turn up to stalk you offer moral support.

Kezzer, it's that time of year, why not take her along to tomorrow's big march. :toot:

Wasn't that last week? I remember waking up and hearing the sound of knuckles dragging on the pavement.

There's another one on Saturday, starting at Cathedral Square.

If she starts tapping her feet and humming along then Kezzer will know that a 3rd date probably isn't the best idea.

My suggestion is that if this is the case, he should still pump her, but say a Hail Mary during the vinegar strokes, hold on tight and enjoy the ride
