We've never done anything, but last year I was in a really gooseberry fool place with work, and gf had been really understanding about it, so I got her some flowers sent to her office. She works in an office full of incredible hotties (including her, obviously). I scored major brownie points, not just with her but with her colleagues who now all think I'm amazing.
Anyway, yesterday I told her that she wasn't getting anything - 'because it's on a Saturday and I won't get to impress your workmates'. Didn't go down so well. I have actually got her a nice necklace (non-pearl), and in the evening I'm planning on playing Destiny.
Nothing. Going out for lunch, got her some roses being delivered...Gonna get some drinks for the night watch films and do stuff.

I've already told the Mrs I'm not getting roses this year, I spent loads on them over the past few and they just die within days so I'd rather spend that on nice food and booze.
Making breakfast in bed for her, then cooking a steak meal, making a Stilton and port sauce with wedges and vegetables. Maybe a pudding too.

Genuinely Valentines is a bit of a pain, already had the double combo of Christmas and my girlfriends birthday within 40 days of each other, and then have to somehow find ANOTHER idea or three..Gah!

40 days? Try 1 day, girlfriends birthday is on Christmas eve, its such a pain to think of creative gifts. I have no idea what I will get her for valentines day.

Paying slightly over the odds for a valentines meal at a nearby Indian
comes with at least 1 rose for the lady, so that's the flowers sorted

I feel your pain. Plus our anniversary is November so I pretty much something every month from November to February.
